Used Wall Tent - How do you find a good deal?

Why not just run one of the updated new dome tents that sleep like 8 people and use a heater buddy? They go up in 10 minutes. I Like the wall tents but I sleep in my horse trailer unless im in deep then its the 2 man tent so I am not a good judge. I have a 25 year old pole style tent that is good for 4 guys and all the gear and it goes up in 30 minutes but it wouldnt hold up in nasty snow I dont think??? Never tried it. unless your in CO or something like that why go wall tent anyway, we don't get that kind of weather here?

    Camping in Unit 29

Funny, i mentioned this issue to a buddy and he said the folks who cross know when hunting season is and they avoid moving those times since everyone is armed and on edge. I dont see anyone walking up into the mountain range anyway, they would go around. I have the NOv 8 hunt and will be on the west side up in high country. I need a new truck anyway so if that goes bey bey no big deal. LOL

    Spike Camps

3 DAYs in I could run about 40 lb pack and stay 4 to 5 days if there is water in the area. 45 lbs for 7 day trip. if you wanted to go minimal which I have been trying to talk myself into you could do 35 lbs for 3 days most likely. I pretty much always end up at 43 lbs or so regardless since I figure its a workout for me as well as hunting. My last hunt day this season was hiking in Sedona in some new country for me and I ran 43 lbs for an overnighter just for the workout aspect so my body is not shocked next time I carry a full load. This all includes spot scope and tripod by the way.

7mm Mag Loads. Updated with hunt story!

28 in tube will throw off test speeds, I very rarely have the same gun as the test gun the books use. I run 63 grn of RL25 on the Berger 180 VLD and get good results. Muzzle break is a must, that thing kicks like a Mule and rearanges your thoughts for a few seconds. Honestly I have shot core lockt store bullets in 180 grn and have good accuracy. Hard to beat the 7mm Mag. You want to look into neck sizing these things, if not you will end up with a bulge at the belt if you full length them. I am on loading number 6 with mine and they still chamber well.

Extra Pair of undies and my bow that's it. I just lick the dew from a blade of grass in the morning and off I go.

    Yeti Coolers - Best Price?

downside to these high end coolers is I know a buddy who was camping with a group and 3 of them went missing one afternoon while they were gone. People go out scouting just to steal these and resell them. They are targets so if you get one keep it out of site. Sucks that it happens but if your in high traffic areas they will disappear.

100 bucks an hour, how much machining is there? If I can't do it I know a fellow gun guy who has a manual in his garage. Send some more info or pic

    Tough Decision - Thoughts

I have a good insight to this issue. My wife has bad asthma and we have mules and dogs. What we did was build the house and have zero carpet. Central vac system makes a big difference with keeping the dust down. We wash the dogs every day when we get home and then they come in the house for the night and go out only to use the bathroom. Ounce we stuck to this she has less issues now. There is no way the dogs would go for her but that is her decision, they are her babies and she would suffer and die before they would go believe me. Her doctor said its not so much the dog its self that is the issue but what the dog gets into outside, so we wash them before they come in and keep the house very clean and change ac filters often and use the good ones (like 20 bucks each) After picking up a cabin in Overgaard a few years ago we notice she has way less issue up there when we stay for several days so being anywhere near the city can hurt more than animals, the dogs sleep with us in bed at the cabin and she still has less issues, she starts to feel the heavy chest on the ride home when we get into town. We are now working on getting out of the valley all together, even though we are out in Wickenburg the smog floats out further than you think. Good luck.

lions without a dog...can it be done?

Your drawing skill appear to be high end, I love charcoal and pencil work???? If you have anything for sale let me know??? In your area I have seen several lions at long distance glassing sycamore canyon in unit 8. Up towards White horse Lake Area and there is a trail that heads off the rim on FR505 or 125 or something South West of Perkinsville road and I have seen sign there as well but not seen cats. I just hiked Loy Canyon Trail in Sedona Unit 6B and saw more scat than I have ever before in any area. Like 8 different piles. Good luck with the cats, I buy a tag every year just in case but have not hunted them but 1 time.

    HARD WAY BEAR PART 2

Just got the meat back and need to give out some more thanks. Thank you to Miller custom meats for all the help, Thanks to Dead On Taxidermy for all the help, And thanks to Game and Fish, between the 3 we were able to get the mandatory check in done without the trophy leaving the Taxi shop and we were able to get back in for more hunting, and to tend to the Mules. Bear meat is very good by the way.

    scopeless...

The volrtex razor will do it without stacking moa on the rail. Way better scope as well and if you want 1500 you can do it. Trust me if your looking for 1000 you will be looking for longer soon enough. Pay ounce cry ounce

A post just because it doesn't seem right

This is normal, if you notice at Cabelas on a white board near the gun sales paperwork area they have the hold and wait date posted and update them daily, My dad bought a gun the same day as me and I walked out with mine and he had to wait the 7 days set by Cabelas. Its something from the computer that comes up in the checking and facts and they flag it. Could be anything from traffic tickets to credit issues, who knows. I agree its crap but I think it grabs more bad guys than good and gives the background check time to go over things. Dad was pretty pissed about giving them 1300.00 bucks and not leaving with what he bought. LOL He told them so too.

    BACKCOUNTRY FEED FOR PACK STOCK

I wanted to put some information out on a new product I tried on a recent hunt with the mules. 7 days packing in AZ requires alot of feed for your animals along with some grazing if the grass is not too high in sugar. I used Purina Hydration hay for the first time and I will say it was a great addition to my rig. I put six blocks or 6 flakes in a pillow case along with several 1 gallon freezer bags full of sweet and pellets. I put one of these on each side of my pack rig. All that is needed is to add water to the blocks of compressed hay and you get a full feeding. The blocks are compact and weigh about 1 pound each. I use the pillow cases after as game bags to save on room. I use callapsable water buckets (3 gallon) to mix 2 gallons of water with the hay blocks. In about 10 minutes they are ready to feed providing nutrients and water to your animals. Check out Purina for more info. One downside is this is not considered weed free. I called Purina since I was planning on Colorado in the future.
