I have been trying to find this particular stay on case for less than $200, I'm just about ready to buy new at full price. Thought I'd check to see if anyone had one they'd let go in time for some extra Xmas cash?? Or does anyone know the cheapest place to get one?? Thanks for looking, Mark

Cleaning optics!!!!
WildernessMark204 replied to Coues Archer's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
When I'm in the field I lick my binos. Sounds dumb, I know, but after that I use a lense pen and silk cloth. A little dirt won't kill ya and that way I know I'm not grinding sand and debri into the coating with the cloth -

Awesome scope 13-30X50 I am original owner, looks brand new, no scratches on lenses or rubs on body, used at the range but kept in my pack when bowhunting. Asking $600 shipped, Trades im looking for: Swaro 10X42s (plus cash on my end of course), or a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 target turrets. I have it listed on eBay too, I will remove it from here if someone bids on it there first, and visa-versa.

Coues Hunting in Arizona. . . questions from a beginner
WildernessMark204 replied to bigfatbeginner's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My .02, I love Noslers Custom Ammo with their 130gr Accubonds. It was mentioned, but worth saying again, physical fitness is a must! Your physical state will always challenge your mental state and when you're looking for an excuse to get off the mountian you can think of a lot more when you're tired! -

What tricks have you learned from other in camp?
WildernessMark204 replied to scoutm's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
peanut butter, honey, and bacon on wheat toast. you can make several ahead of time because bread doesn't get soggy. i put my clothes in my sleeping bag with me at night so they're warm in the morning. during archery season i keep an extra release aid buckled to a loop on my backpack because as soon as i take the one on my wrist off #1 it always takes awhile to find it, and #2 thats the only time a jackrabbit or coyote will stand still. -
.270 factory ammo
WildernessMark204 replied to bonecollector's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I know this is kinda a stale thread, but I LOVE the .270 Win, and I didn't see anybody mention the Custom Ammunition from Nosler, specifically with 130gr accubonds. I get slightly above 3000fps average out of a 24" Rock Creek barrel on a semi custom model 70. 1/2" groups and I'm sure the rifle can do better (the guy pulling the trigger is the limiting factor-me!) great, great, great 500 yard rifle cartridge, shooting a 140 or 150 bullet you will only get 350 yard accuracy, and you'll need to find a bullet that expands well at low velocity. I've only ever tested 130grs, and only hear from reputable shooters that they go to a heavier bullet for elk at closer range rather than using a .30 cal or bigger better magnum. Just my .02!
