No pissing match, if any hunter can't pull out a 350 bull on there own maybe they need do need to ask for help, or maybe they need to get in shape or or hire someone to help them. I haven't personally helped or know anyone that has shoot a spike or raghorns, unless your a meat hunter why would you it is really sad to think a hunter a women or a man couldn't do this on our own.

  3. Rain doesn't make them hunker down, I have seen them out soaking wet so bad they couldn't even fly but still feeding they live in the winter and struggle to survive with sometimes a 100 inches of snow each winter do you really think 2 inches of snow or .2 inches of rain have that much effect on them.my friends here kicked butt on the jr hunt with the snow you just have to know where the birds are.more then your favorite area.

  4. GreyGhost85,

I am 56 years old 6'3" 250 and have packed 3 bulls and a cow out in September by myself one in the Wilderness in 22 straight up straight down and a couple 3-4 miles

away from the truck and never had the meat spoil and I don't consider myself a SOB packing fool If you don't think you could do it on your own you might want to take a look in the Mirror. If you can't do this on your own you probably weren't taught how to do it right . I wasn't I had to learn on my own.

  5. Azshedgirl,

In your post of Browns so far, I would guess you have 36-37lbs of antlers. I too do it because I love it don't care if I find a big one or a little one

doesn't matter I don't go out like I use to, I only normally go for six weeks been out 4 times after work and 3 full days and found a few pounds

I am done for the year.

  6. I was wondering how many people that normally have done really good the past 10-20 years, how are they doing nowadays now that it has grown so popular, quads don't effect my shed hunting, just pisses me off they are go where they want and there is nothing done about it.

    Shedhunteraz,

I can still find a lot of sheds, my post wasn't asking for help finding them just asking if the guys or gals that kill it every year are still having good success with all the new people looking, some people do good every once in a while but some do great every year.

    Hornhunter 10,

You are one hunter that answered what I was asking, it doesn't sound like the quads or popularity has hurt you.

  7. I put in for 5bn and south in the late 70's all of the 80's and 90's for archery bull when the odds of getting drawn were like 60 percent and only drew every 6-7 years you can take your stats and well you know what you can do with them.I had friends that drew 9 or 10 times in the same time span. odds don't mean anything it's all about the hunters that have the luck.

  8. Amazing tag you drew and very physical it's very demanding, but nothing like if you drew 7E the peaks hunt good luck and get in better shape then you are now.

if you dedicate yourself to this hunt, scouting and getting fit you can kill a great bull.

  9. AZHog,

Are you hunting in the Dec hunt or Oct? we've got four snow storms in the past eight years a couple were around a foot and one was I think 40-50 inches. and last year we had 1-2 inches opening morning and that was enough to get it done. some of these storms came after the weekend hunters had left.

  10. Wow how sad 2 people could be married and it comes to this, Since your not scared of him or dying I would pull right in his camp and stay there for 13 days.

If you don't like this option I would find another camp spot neither one of you have ever camp at and drive to your hunting spots and next year put in for a different unit there are many as good or better then 6a it's sounds like you only know this unit, but there are way better units to hunt with a lot less tags.

Are you too on that really bad of terms too even worry about this? If so I would find some new spots in 6a I could give you a few areas to check out.

  11. I have found in some units they are in different locations from spring to fall and some they are there year round depends from year to year ,if you have a youth hunt, the first general hunt or the 3rd hunt, 2nd general and how popular your area is can change things up,I think you can hunt 5BN as well there are a ton of birds in north this year I would look around there as well.
