Another fire just kicked off between Sunflower and Rye off the 87 .

I have been on the cold water fire for 13 days . They have been using guys out of this camp to help fight the Webber fire . They have been hitting the Webber pretty hard with air attack due to the extreme terrain . Last I heard it was at 20 acres and the sat guy says it’s not putting off much smoke .

We agree on something 😳! As crazy as it sounds they offered him a plea with out providing him with the evidence . They keep piling new charges on him hoping he will finally submit . Unless they know something that I don’t I don’t see him taking any plea agreement .

If you look back I posted on March 13th that court was canceled! Sorry but with out court nothing can be proclaimed! Yeah they offered him a plea with out giving him evidence or the “witnesses “ ! After several attempts they can not provide his attorney with either ! Motions will be filled in the near further to force their hand . Worst part about this is all the haters on here will be saying bc777 got off on a technicality! Truth be told it was BS from the start just like I proclaimed months ago . Let’s think about this ??? If it was cut and dry why in the heck can’t they provide him with witnesses or any evidence. It’s been almost a year and still nothing ! I’ll answer that for you because it’s all BS! After bc777 brought to light the illegal take of an elk by several wardens The azgfd wants something to stick so bad that they just won’t give up . Yes I also have heard rumors of the azgfd Serving a warrant for a cabin in Heber and two homes In Pima az owned by a father and son . I didn’t witness it or know anybody that did. That being said it’s just a rumor to me at this point . I know the son is a guides helper on the Rez for spring bear hunts and has not been kicked off yet . Usually the tribe has a zero tolerance policy but then again maybe they are not aware of it yet . Then again it might just be a rumor .

I was out looking for antlers and came across a nice lion track . We went out the next morning and after a few mile hike the dogs picked up the sent . We cold trailed for about a mile then the wind came up and they lost it . The next day the wind was terrible but the forecast called for some rain . It rained off and on most of the night but stopped about 3am We loaded up the dogs and got to where we thought the lion might be headed around 5:30am . As luck would have it after a short hike the dogs picked up the sent and the race was on ! Mr Tom was treed and freed .

Yeah I’m not a fan of tree climbing dogs . That dog is my pride and joy so I snapped the picture and corrected her right away .

I don’t like any new regulations on anything period . I hate to say this but with HSUS trying to take our mountain lion and bobcats from us I feel that the azgfd made the right call . Sometimes we have to compromise to keep what we want . That being said the timing was terrible ! The quotas were met in many units due to the amazing winter we had . Now HSUS feels like they were set to high . Truth be told If we had an average AZ winter I think only 1 zone would have been shut down . As far as the closures it doesn’t affect me . Due to the amazing winter we caught 16 lions from August to April . Out of the 16 we harvested 2 toms . So being able to pursue them enables me to do what I would do 98 percent of the time catch and release . I feel like a lot of hounds men / trappers bring a lot of this heat that’s coming down on themselves. I watch these idiots post videos that don’t need to be posted in this day and age . All it does is gives the anti groups ammo to use against us . When I get to a tree I look up at one of the most magnificent creatures on the planet , I watch the excitement that it brings my dogs and I thank the lord for the opportunity to be a part of it . To many hounds men think they have to harvest anything and everything they catch . Sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and reflect on how lucky we are to have the opportunity to witness such a feat ,pull the dogs and dream of the next time we meet .

My brother is an attorney and was a law clerk in Las Vegas for three years . He says that when he was a law clerk he saw this a million times . The prosecution comes up with as many BS charges as they can think of . He called it the art of the plea . So they rack up phony charges on top of charges they feel are valid . So when John Doe sees 4 felony’s 5 misdemeanors and jail time he gets scared and is more open to take a plea of 4 misdemeanors probation and community service . I agree this is a weird deal ! How can it get kicked out of justice court with prejudice and two weeks later it be overturned to with out prejudice? The justice court judge and the county attorney office did this with out the defense even present . Now they both wrote letters claiming they made a mistake the first time and didn’t know how it worked ! By law the Judge and prosecution can’t meet and talk about the case with out the defense present . Now the clown from the county attorneys office is a witness for the prosecution! After the initial charges they questioned people that had hunted that same deer and have pictures and videos of it in 23n , the clowns at the game and fish asked them if they heard any gun shots and if they were hunting on the Rez ! So why ask that if there were gun shots and if they were hunting the Rez If it was supposedly killed 14 miles away in 3c ? Even if there were gun shots what does that have to do with anything ? Last time I checked during an archery hunt others can still pleasure shoot , hunt Coyote ,Fox,lion ,bobcat . So if they have bc777 dead to rights what’s taking so long to bring him to his knees ? It’s been a year . Could it be that they think if they keep dragging it out eventually bc777 won’t have the means to fight it and will fall into “ the art of the plea “? Now I have a question for the coues whitetail community when do the deer south of the Grand Canyon rut ?

Thanks . The two high tans have a little bit of everything in them . Trevor Nelson and Hunter Dewitt spent years and years mixing and matching different blood lines . Then Hunter took it up another notch and bred a dog to one of Trevor mineers red ticks named faith which came from van johnson blood . The results on that cross were phenomenal. Those dogs are only 18 months old . That walker looking dog is actually a red tick and 10 months old. I bought his mom from a guy out of Nevada she looks like an English to me but was told she was a red tick . I picked up his dad from Trevor Mineer at about a year old . He was by far the best dog I have ever owned . Unfortunately I was chasing a lion and it decided to cross the highway . I could see on my gps they were headed toward the highway so I toned them and they turned around and started heading back . I ran back to my truck and started headed their way and lost gps signal . When I picked them up on the gps it showed all the dogs treed right at the highway . I figured the lion must not have wanted to cross . Well copper dog wasn’t about to quit that lion and had turned around at some point and Was hit by a car . I still get sick when I think about losing him. He was more than just a dog he was my friend and taught me more than I could have ever taught him .

Well due to weather bc777 had to change the court date . However we had an awesome day chasing the hounds and caught number 13 and 14 for the year! First female lion around 2:30 this afternoon. Cut a Tom on our way out and had him up a tree by 530 . I hope our CWT brothers had a great day as well .
