Just had to read and look at you pictures again before I head out there this morning. The beautiful close ups are helpful so I know what I'm looking for... I am not a javelina magnet.

Who knows how common it is. Im sure your "buddy" isnt the only one. It is poaching if he gets two, and its illegal if hes out rilfe hunting after killing in January. I doubt theres a system in place to verify it even if he were to get pulled over. Smart of you to get away from him, most likely its not the only shady thing about him.

This weather coming in has me reevaluating my plans... the 99 ranchero does not do snow nor does it much like mud. Lower 20a may be the destination.

Ive always said that its other hunters who steal cameras. Antis will just break lenses or cover them in mud etc. On the last one I had stolen their were fresh boot prints and empty shot gun hulls. Dove hunters I presume. I usually know better than to put one on a tank but I was after something specific and had double locked and chained it and it was in a metal box. Im sure it took them some time to get it off. They could have easily drove to WalMart and for a little over 70 bucks bought a camera. I think some guys get a kick out of stealing them.

That buck would make anyone weak. No one would pass that buck. congrats.

Ive seen them in all but the very highest places in 8. Even seen them in the snow. Out off Verde ranch road might be a good place to start.
