No draw deer tag for me, but I fully intend on running an arrow thru a velvety mulie in August. And will even stick a turkey if I have time. Then comes November and theres a bull out there whose counting the days until a carbon tube deflates his lungs. Ahh its so much easier to talk about then it is to do.

Same people who spike trees and damage construction equipment. I will bet theres a website with a link on how to build these.

More and more of it will continue to close. Most of the bigger ranches around my part of the state are already closed or are difficult to access. Most of that was due in part to how their land was being treated by others i.e. abandonned vehicles, shot up stock tanks etc. Can't blame them really. So now that there is a dollar value on access it will just get worse, giving them landowner tags wont change things either. So the regular guys will just keep getting pushed into smaller and smaller places with less and less access.

+1 on the shot placement. Ive shot tons of different heads over the years. None of them were perfect. Ive seen mechs zip thru elk at 60 yds and super tough fixed heads bounce of javelina ribs at 5 yards. And vice versa. In my quiver now I have some G5 T-3's and some Slick Tricks. That being said, I too am going to be trying some gravediggers this year as well.

I have a buddy who just got back from a week of fishing off the coast of San Diego. He said it was the best trip hes been on and he goes every year at least once. Reported the quantities of fish were unreal.

That bull has some great growth for June! Hes still got a good month left to top out.

For what its worth NM does have more bears, turkeys and elk. We have the edge on quality of bulls but NM has some great ones too. We have more and better coues. Mulies are probably a tie. They have the exotic stuff and "full size" whitetails as has been said before.
