Two small bulls this morning bit no chance at them. Nothing tonite.

Got into lots of elk, no bulls. Even more turkeys. deer, coyotes, a Fox and a skunk. Everything was on the move yesterday with the storm blowing thru. But it was fun.

Good luck scooter. Ill be leaving the house at zero dark thirty in the morning. Short commute for elk hunting for me.

I only have one tattoo and I regret it. I have about a dozen mounts and not a single regret.

If you see a tired looking f-150 with a equally tired looking quad in tow that will be me. Stop and say hi.

I believe that human encroachment and drought are major factors. However the lack of any predator management will continue to decimate any herd growth. We have ridiculous fawn recruitment for those species. Look at the 3 Bar area near Roosevelt, the deer in the enclosure thrive, even with drought and a relatively small habitat. No predators in the enclosure.

Thinking about switching fletching and was looking for some input... blazers? AAE? NAP? Bohning? Also i've been noticing some guys at the range shooting 4 fletched arrows and even know a guy who 6 fletches. Do any of you shoot arrows with more that 3 vanes/feathers? Thanks.

Make sure you rub some raw bacon on your hands first. That's how the pros do it.

Since I hunt alone, the mountains have gotten steeper, the packs heavier and a cat nap midday is essential.

Well, found some bucks. But wasn't able to get it done. He gave me three tries though. Guess it wasn't his time.

No pics from me yet. Unit 8 report: 2 does, 1 coyote, 200 domestic sheep, 4 shepherds and not as many hunters as I expected. Glassed my eyeballs out. Gonna try some old school still hunting in the pines tomorrow.

I'm a tag soup coniseur. I've had just about every flavor you can think of. Sure its bitter and burns a little, but you get used to it.

So that's why our tags says antlered deer and not buck. Very cool.
