AZSFW open letter to sportsmen
4Falls replied to krp's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Read the letter and have to admit I agree with all four points they made about the future of hunting in AZ. Lately Ive been watching this topic from the sidelines. They (AZSFW) seem to make a good argument. -
All I know for sure is that I was born in Phoenix in 1968. Then adopted by my parents a few days later. Ive lived here all my life and always will.

Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery
4Falls replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Unfortunatly they are not going to go away. No amount of sportsmans input, complaining, cash or votes can stop this snowball. Hunt every chance you get. The antis/wolfies have already taken over what Natl parks they can and the Natl forests are next. Their argument will be that the only way they can possibly control the BEEFalo on the Grand Canyon Natl Park will be to restore wolves. -
Gonna go forward with a new rifle. Which do you guys recommend?
-
I cant find it now... but I read an article in the Flagstaff paper the other day that was crediting wolves with helping to re-forest the burned areas of Yellowstone Park. Just more fuel for the Wolf crowd to bring more wolves to Arizona to help reforest our burned areas as well. (I love stirring things up)

No matter how much seasoning you put on it tag soup always tastes bitter. Mine included archery javelina, archery deer, archery antlerless elk and october coues with a hint of lion and archery turkey.
-
Nice to see javalinas getting some respect. I agree they are a very interesting animal and always enjoy seeing them in the field no matter what quarry I may be chasing.

Now that Ive gotten used to the eyecups on the Minox I really like them. Still saving for a pair of Swaro's but the Minox are more than capable for my limited abilities.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked and everything is working. Maybe we'll have some results before Thanksgiving?

Sitting here watching the snow come down and just for fun thought I'd check my bonus points on the g&f website enter my birthdate and dept ID.... it tells me the ID is invalid. So I reenter, same thing. So I do it again, and again... same result.. So I call them on the phone and check my bonus point and everything is just like it should be got right in. So now Im worried. I have my receipts that showed I applied. All my info was already entered when I originally began the on-line app process. I checked it all but maybe there was a number out of place or something and I didnt catch it... oh no. Anyone else have similar issues?
-
Well here we are just a day or two from the javi/turk results and still the website wont allow me to access my account it still says the dept ID is invalid. This can't be good.

I'll top Lance and go $101.

Due to work commitments the October Coues deer season came to an end a little early for me. We hiked and glassed our butts off but weren't able to connect on a buck. Lots of deer were seen, even a couple decent bucks, but thats how it goes. A couple of highlights were the two Rocky sheep I glassed up on Saturday morning and the lion skull that Skeeter found on Wednesday morning. Loved being back in 6a again and especially hunting with my great friend. Any other 6a guys who had some luck? I heard the shooting, someone had to have killed one.

Ive used a few of the various elastic trap types recently I purchased on of these- http://ranchosafari.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=7 from Rancho Safari. Ive been using this guys pack and other stuff for close to a decade and the quality is excellent and their all American made.

I have a different number for my dept ID number. When I use my SS# is tells me no app on file. When I use my Dept ID it says its wrong. Im screwed.

Coconino National Forest Travel Management Plan
4Falls replied to Red Rabbit's topic in The Campfire
I hate quads – I run them over with my rock crawler Jeep every chance I get! QUAD RIDERS $UCK! Good to know. Next time I come across a broken down rock crawler Ill be sure to smile and wave as I go on down the trail. -
Coconino National Forest Travel Management Plan
4Falls replied to Red Rabbit's topic in The Campfire
They keep just pushing us further and further into one spot. The ultimate goal is to keep recreational users of the forest lands completely. Its all a part of their myoptic view of preservation. None of this means anything anyway it only changes the the actions of a few. Back in the 80's they closed all the roads into what is now the mazatzal wilderness, now theres more quad roads into there then you can shake a stick at. Look at whats happening in Fossil Creek? When APS had a presence down there things were much cleaner and better. Now its a bacterial playground, mostly due in part to the earth loving hippies who now frequent the area. So now theirs a constant presence of FS cops chasing every kid with a fishing pole.
