We're gutless converts too. Always packing plenty of game bags and a couple of cheap plastic table cloths are a great idea as well. Less muss. Less fuss. Ginos method of skinning up the spine might be something for us to try this year. Ive always done in by skinning up the belly. Sorta like if you were gonna make a rug out of the critter. Lotta times we bone out the front quarters later just to get out of the canyon. just my .02 cents.

Alright guys... it'll be next week most likely Thursday. They are directly synchronized with the moon phase. And according to the latest issue of Rocky Mtn. G&F magazine, sometime between 11:30 pm Wednesday and 2:15 am Thursday is the optimum time for result movement. Keep waiting and checking.....

Im curious... I read all this chatter about how the phone line has changed and the results page on the website has changed. However, when I call in or pull up the home page it sounds/looks exactly the same as it has for months. Are you guys all conspiring to drive me crazy? Just because im paranoid doesnt mean they arent after me.

Interesting every time I call I get right trough to my results... you were drawn for antelope... blah blah blah. They have NOT downloaded anything yet. Six more days.

Today is the 10th. Anyone no anything yet? It wont be today.

No one at G&F even knows when the results will be posted. Thats a fact. Theres too many factors to consider. Seems like everyyear theres a computer malfunction. I remember when the results were only available via the phone and then it was always the first week in July. Now they have to put it into God knows how many databases. Shoot it up to some satelite then bounce it off one of the moons of Jupiter. And then back down to Earth. Invariably some data gets corrupted, I get rejected again. The files get lost and have to be resent. I somehow manage to remain rejected. Then it poops out on the internet where we hunters jump all over it like a duck on a junebug which in turn causes the server to crash. By the end of July we've all found out that we were unsucessful and the long wait for the spring draw begins. Its a viscious circle.

Ive thot the same thing but havent figured out a way to do it with my cheap old blind. Another thing to worry about is control burns found a blind on a tank in 22 a couple of years ago that was completly burned up except the poles and everything were still in tact. The person who lit the fire had to knowingly burn the blind it was that obvious. Nothing else was even touched for about 100 yards.

Started killing rabbits and squirrels at 9 or 10. Before that, I used to hide in the hen house and shoot birds with my red ryder. 5th grade is great and youre off to a flying start. A special thanks and congrats to your parents for taking the time to take you hunting.

Im with Mr. Gaines on this one. Wait and see. Im slightly troubled by the condor stuff, but he coyote behavior modification is even more troubling. He is from Chino so he cant be all bad. We'll see.

Seems like it does burn every year. Its in some pretty rugged stuff. If it was started by "hikers" Im sure they were some Prescott College trustafarrians who would not climb a tree to look for lights because it may diminish the self esteem of the tree.

There will be no draw this year. A triad of anti-everything groups formed a super secret coalition with unamed higher up muckity-mucks in certain public land related government agencies. They were able to use taxpayer dollars to retain the services of trial lawers sympathetic to their cause. Thes lawyers were able to put enough legal pressure on the right people to get the draw and its related hunts cancelled. Lucky for us though tags already aquired through the earlier draw do not fall under this umbrella and are valid so long as the said hunting practice does not take place on public land.

As for early season tactics, unless its actively raining i like to sit a well used water source just like everyone else. But the best part about the early season is OPPORTUNITY - deer, turkey, varmints, lions all at the same time. Some places you can even add bears to the list.

This is the best news Ive heard in days I actually "woo-hooed" and high fived the wife. Seriously great news and its great to see the antis knocked back on their heels. I believe they never saw this coming.

Went out for a quick morning scout today looking for pronghorn. Saw quite a few including a giant buck. Water was suprisingly scarce even with the rains we've had lately. Hopefully I can keep an eye on that buck and figure out where he's watering at.
