Ive hunted unit 23 before mostly near Alma, Glenwood and Mule Creek. And that was always with the intent of killing a Coues deer. Well now I have a Mulie tag and was wondering if anyone can help me out with some info about the country north east of Virden. Is it good mulie country? It looks good from the map. but Ill only have a little time to scout and any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

You are on the right track. And youre doing it the right way. Even though there are Coues throughout 6A, for the October hunt it will be easier to find them in the lower country.

I was wondering if any of you guys have ever hunted the archeryonly spring bear hunts. How much different is spring from fall? thanks.

I drew the Nov. 11 hunt also. Hoping to maybe get a chance to scout in October. I have relatives in Safford that work in Morenci and also relatives that live in Silver City.

Im another Arizonan with a 23 tag. However, mine is for mulies only (3rd choice). Ive hunted the Harden Cienega area before saw lots of deer and 5 lions.

Allergies wer bad for me too. I didnt see any deer over the weekend, lots of elk though and even one or two really good bulls. By Sat nite the crowds just got over whelming.

I like the ultimate Steel 100s alot. Rocket is now making a Ultimate titanium 100 that has a 1" cutting diameter. Lately I've been thinking about switching to the Sonic 100s does anyone have any experience with these?

nuthin for me this year.... Looks like archery deer, archery turkeys and bears for me. I do have a mulie tag for New Mexico come November. Does anyone know when they are going to hold the draw for 2007 elk and antelope? Aren't they going to split it up from the deer turkey sheep draw?

Also dont use the alcohol. Ive had the same problem in the past, quit using alcohol to clean the shaft and the problem stopped. Just shave off any old vanes and glue wash with soap and water, dry completly and roughen up shaft with steel wool or light sandpaper.

What really gets me is they havent done the draw yet. Theyve had our applications and alot of folks hard earned money for quite a while now. Why does this process take so long? Why arent we informed of what day the actuall draw takes place? And for that matter how do they keep it so secret its completely amazing that it doesnt get leaked out every year! Isnt there something in the Freedom of Information Act that guarantees us this public knowledge?

Looks like the 28th guys. It seems that every year the anticipation gets worse. (sigh) just two more weeks..............................

Maybe G&F should just push the "waiting for results" envelope all the way to the edge. They could just give each lucky tag recipient a call the nite before his/her hunt was to start. Then said tagholder would be given precise instructions on which G&F branch office they could pick up their tag on their way to their unit. If you happened not to be home or your phone line was tied up because you were on CW.COM, then too bad so sad they'd call the next guy in line. August first! Im sure the "higher-ups" at G&F aren't waiting for their results to be posted. There is no good reason why we should have any down time at all between the draw and when results get posted. With todays technology there's no reason why results cant be sent immediatly to applicant 1's email address upon selection. It seems to me that the big game super raffle was over and posted in mere hours. and all those were sent in paper form. There I feel better. Good luck you guys.

Also heard this morning that Tonto is re-opening and that parts of Kiabab-Tusayan district are reopening.

My buddy and I drew our 3rd choice deer tag, 23 mulie. Not Coues but better than sitting home and theres still the AZ draw in about a month. Congrats to all those who got drawn.
