Wondering if anybody has ever fished stonecreek golf club or orange tree? I live near them and iam hoping to find a place up in north phoenix to fish. Not looking to eat any of these fish as you can already figure out-just looking for a short drive to get my fix. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rancho Manana in Cave Creek was a good one when I was younger, but I have not been out there in a long time.

Those are decent lower end ed/hd binoc, also look at eagle optics ranger 10x42 its basicall a vortex talon hd for 150$ less with same no fault warranty (vortex and eagle are same company). Zen Ray ed3's are really nice, just got a pair for $339 from cameraland and they are as good if not nicer than the vortex vipers I have. They also carry the no fault warranty that all us hunters need, drop em, run them over, find a pair in the trash send it back to them and for $10 their fixed or replaced. Vortex and Swaro guys are brand loyal, i get that they both make great product and in the case of vortex their marketing is geared entirly to hunting so they get alot of love, but their are alot of competitive less exspensive options out there.

UPDATED WITH A PIC OF BULL AND AIR DATE: Outlanders Limited Draw - Another Arizona Hunt!!
ciomber replied to loco4coues's topic in Elk Hunting
Great shot and show! Did they have to use the Weaver gear they gave away, like the scope used for the kill shot? -
Anybody own these and have a review or recommendation for them? I am interested in buying them, price is nice for the quality of glass they advertise these as being.

Wondering for my elk hunt this year if I should sell my 10x50 vortex vipers and upgrade to bigger mag of 15x56, or keep my 10x and buy a spotting scope. My thought process is less weight in pack with the bigger binos and still able to see alot of land with 15x on a tripod. Or should I keep the 10's for their field of view and grad a scope for long distance location? On the fence about this and wanted to see what you guys think.

wow your in for a surprise

Wondering what the locals think about this unit and its deer population, and locations during this hunt. I have not hunted this unit before and iam curious if the elk have lowered the numbers so much up in the peaks that its not worth attempting to hunt up there? I have heard this was a great unit in the 50's 60's 70's and the high elevations where littered with huge bucks.

thats kinda depressing, were you up high in elevation or in pinon juniper?

burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

what 15's you running?
-
I appreciate the input, I checked out the vortex viper 15x50, sweet compact 15's and about the same weight as my other binocs, also checked out the vultures 15x56, nice optic quality but bulky and heavy compared to the viper, I will have to check the razor compact scope. I appreciate the input on the need for only 10's on that hunt, i think I will keep em for the versatility they offer.

I have a unit 7e tag archery, also plan to hunt early archery deer same unit.

I had that hunt the year after Wallow fire and it was incredible fun. Rutting was crazy, bulls going off all afternoon and evening. We scouted around Greens peak and St peter dome area which had alot of hunters set up on day one of hunt. The good thing is there are tons of area on foot that get you away from roads and hopefully hunters if your willing to hike up the hills. Great unit, good luck and have fun, should be a blast.

you guys using phonescopes?

Excited to hunt elk in september, finally drew a tag! Wondering what people think about the peaks area vs. the rest of the unit? Should I focus up high for this hunt? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it, I cant wait to get up there and scout, nothing motivates like a tag for the rut.
