  1. btw, I wanted to request that if even if you aren't interested in the collection but have suggestions for book dealers or venues that may be, please let me know! I'm new to this forum and appreciate the opportunity to get this collection back into the hunting and sporting community. Thanks, -jason
  2. I am working with the estate of an individual north of Milwaukee, WI that extensively collected books and artwork on hunting, fishing, and big and small game. His focus appears to have been in the area of upland game and waterfowl, but he also has many books on big game as well. Sadly this gentleman recently passed away. He was an avid collector for many years and had deep connections to the hunting and fishing tradition in Northern Wisconsin going back many generations (his father and grandfather started a hunting camp in Northern Wisconsin at the turn of the century that is still going to this day). I have created a catalog of his hunting book collection and it includes over 220 titles. There are many rare or desirable titles in the collection including 22 of 24 Briar Patch Press Africa collection volumes, the Jim Corbett Collection, many Amwell Press books, many Premier Press books, a true first edition first printing of Aldo Leopold's "A Sand County Almanac", and a real stunner, the exceedingly rare 5 volume set "Etchings and Drypoints by Frank W Benson" published between 1917 and 1959. Each volume in this set includes an original signed etching by Benson. I have only ever seen one complete set for sale and it was priced in the thousands. Many of the books are special or numbered editions, many have author signatures, and nearly all are in pristine mint condition. I am currently looking for interested parties willing to make an offer on this collection. The catalog includes title, author, fairly detailed condition notes, publishing year, and in most cases page number count. I can also provide photos if needed, and of course am able to meet in person to show the collection as well provided the individual is in or near Wisconsin. I will consider offers on specific titles but only after parties interested in the entire collection have made any potential offers, and prices on cherry picked titles would be more than if purchased as a collection. If you are interested in receiving this catalog list and in making an offer on the collection please let me know. I can send the list to you immediately. I have also included a copy in this post as well. Thanks for reading and happy hunting!! Jason Pipes jpipes AT feldgrau DOT com LangBookCollection.pdf
