I never knew these were a thing till my last trip south. Decided to try after we caught a few. They’re basically pure meat, no bones and a couple of lb.s of great eating we’ve been leaving behind. Googled recipes after getting home, and I found a few that are super simple. Great eating!

Has heck frozen over? Congrats man! 27 years is crazy! Antelope tags in AZ are as hard to draw as sheep tags nowadays. I got pouty waiting3 to draw a cow elk tag, lol. I don’t know squat about 10, so I’m no help there, but I’m sure you have some contacts who do. Good luck, can’t wait to see pics and read you AZ antelope thread after the hunt.

Woke up to a wet yard, and the smell of rain! Nice and cool at 5:15 , like it should be. Tonite s supposedly a better chance, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Guy I used to work with got a phone call telling him he had 24 hours to get his trailer off of Forest land up by Dogtown Lake, or it would be towed a few years back.
-
Actually, it’s karma…. So many people are leaving their rigs for weeks and months there and on forest lands. Run up on the occasional weekends, and don’t pay storage fees. The Williams area got really bad a few years back, I heard they finally started enforcing the 14 day limit. I’m sure the lakes had the same action going on. Probably why you can hardly find a space to park/camp by the water anymore.

Yup, my buddy sent me photos of them three weeks ago when he was there.

YUP. He blew up his well used Penn coffee grinder cranking grouper with the drag maxed out. He's due for an upgrade for sure.

I’ll take the Avet, prices on the 40 Penn and the Avet MX Raptor are $140 delta. No brainer after watching the review

Brutal man. Could have listed the Suicide Prevention Hotline # ….. I should know it by heart due to my crappy draw luck. The OP is probably wishing he bought point guard with all the positive feedback so far ,plus the other newbie…

Well, I’ve never gone on a cattle boat , and don’t imagine I ever will. If someone on my boat or one of the boats I fish on hooks a slob that takes some time, we are all in. That was the basis for my comment. That being said, I’ve probably been “ that guy “ before, and may again. Just not fishing.

"Until you hook a bigger than expected fish and have to fight it for an hour." I'm open to the challenge... sounds like a good problem to have.

I am a plus one for the spinning gear, aka: coffee grinders. No chance of backlash,I can cast farther( yeah I know someone good w bait cast gear will outcast me): faster retrieve when ripping lures……..yup!

It’s warming up pretty good on the rim, yesterday was beautiful . Snows melting fast. I think another two weeks they’ll be getting going pretty good . Good luck, I may go out to call for fun myself.

I just did a 14 lb( biggest Fry’s had) last Friday on my Traeger…..I put it on at 7:30 pm , I smoked it for 12 hours, then wrapped it in butcher paper set on 225 for 3, then turned up to. 250 for one. Pulled at 203 and let rest for 30 prior to carving …turned out great. Was done at noon. The long smoking shortens the cooking time as the temp got to about 140-143. I like a heavy smoke taste, and you get a deep bark with the 12 hour smoke. You really can’t screw up a brisket unless you forget about it totally. Had several friends not realize how long they take to cook correctly though anf pull them off before done, and they are a tough mudder when cooked improperly .

It came from the AZGF,website, under the unit description in where to hunt. Usually info from a WM for the unit, who it appears will site you for hunting with the aid of a vehicle.

I'm tired of finding frosted crap in my freezer from the Foodsavers. I saw the LEM is available at COSTCO now,... most reviews are good, but wanted to see if anyone here has first hand experience with one. I'm willing to buy once, cry once, but dont want to spend a grand. Thats too much crying.
