If you got 10 years out of one Foodsaver, I am amazed. I Kill one every 3-4 years, usually keep a new spare in the garage if I find them on sale. I have not been impressed, looking for a better brand for my next one.

You whimpered, I think I screamed! However, I think it was a high pitched profanity if I recall correctly. I had the same thing happen last month on an antelope hunt, he rattled as my foot went down. I may have set a record for a one legged, backwards jump. I was also lucky, as he was a gentlemen about it and slithered the other way. made me slow waaaay down in the tall grass after that.

good problem to have.... beats dust clouds popping up and dry things snapping, or, or in my case, not being drawn to go hunting

Give them a try, as said rifles can be picky. Make sure your barrel is clean, deep clean If an older rifle. Usually takes 6 or so “fouling shots” on the copper to dial in. Different animal, but can be worth the effort .

I’ve dumped bighorn to bison . My buddy took them Africa and recovered 75% weight from a zebra. Some guns shoot the copper better than others, my tack driving .06 hates them. any good ? Yeah, deader than dead. Plus less meat blowup.

I like game meat. I don’t like meat prices in Biden America. I’m sure others are the same. I won’t shoot a spike any more, but I’ve seen some 2x that were mature bucks. If it’s legal, a properly licensed hunter can shoot what they want. I am with others that I won’t post any kill pics online.or share photos with those I don’t trust . I sent my bison pic to a BILs brother and the douche put It on Facebook, and my daughter pointed out all the Bunny hugger rips on it. I’m not on social media for a reason.

Sportsmens has a ton of 160 at their Goodyear location, just the Bonded Trophy. I like the Barnes Tsx in 160, but will probably swing to the 150 Trophy Copper due to a higher bc. And availabilty. If you move to copper bullets, be mindful of the copper fouling. Me and my hunting buddy have found the fouling to be much quicker than lead bullets and will put your accuracy in the toilet. . My Ruger 77 will typically put the second shot in the first hole at 100 yds with the Barnes if I do my part.

If you all look back in time, archery pig was OTC for years. Then archery got ez, bows with 80% let off, laser range finders… too many pig hunters in the same convenient places. Deer is now the same, but archery is even easier with adjustable sights, Self centering laser sights. it’s equipment,ie more efficient and easier that creates more hunters in the field. And cross bows allow some to stay in the field. I don’t know anyone who decided they wanted to bow hunt and went looking for a crossbow permit…… it took wounding an elk ( non fatal) at what should have been a guaranteed kill shot to convince me my hand drawn bow days were over after 43 years . I was adamant I could still accurately shoot going into that hunt. I agree with those who say it will all go to draw, you will have to choose your weapon. I predict there will a lot less “bow hunters” when that choice has to be made..

Reason northern units are filling or filled, is the 1000’s of people heading north. Just drove down from Heber to the valley this afternoon( don’t ask why) traffic backed up 5 miles going into Payson. Saw about 4 trucks pulled off the 87 south of Payson. Hunt in 80 or below vs 95 plus? No brainer. I’d love to set a deer mannequin off the 300 road next weekend and watch
