I went on a dry ground horseback hunt in 2017 to finish up my Big Ten. It was the coolest thing I have ever done, I saw country you would not believe, we took horses where I could not believe. I figured mules were in order, and the guys I was with laughed at me for questioning where they could take horses. Once the hounds lit up, it raised goose bumps. My perfect Javelina hunt: See pigs, move in ,take a shot( either archery or gun), miss, go home happy. The best javelina I had was cooked in a pit with green chilis, and that does look good! That being said, I do like having a freezer full of pig chorizo, but when Denmark quit doing game meat, I decided its easier to buy it when I want it.

Take pesos, you'll appreciate having them if you stop for snacks or beverages. Most merchants exchange on the low side, plus you'll end up with a butt ton of loose change everytime you pay gringo money and come home with more strange coins than you want.

I agree with most everyone on here, Dwayne's a stand up guy, helping people pretty regularly. Helping people become better hunters. I remember talking to him at the ADA deer seminar years ago at length before my first hunt there, never pushed me to hire him, but gave me tons of info on the Kaibab. Saw him there on the late hunt this year , and he was very supportive of other hunters coming in with deer on their own. Hyrbid or not, great buck! Who wouldn't shoot that toad? Haters gonna Hate!

Same here, and then make fish tacos out of them. I buy the tortillas in RP , so they are made with lard and so good for you... add pico, shredded lettuce , and a twist of lime. Salsa to taste. In fact, had that for dinner Saturday.

I got called a crazy gringo by the search n rescue guy out of Cholla for swimming on the reef one time, trying to wipe fish blood n slime off after taking photos of a big grouper. Turns out the panga next to us had a 70 pounder bit in half by a 10 footer at the boat. They got the head part. That day, ignorance was bliss.
