Just a heads up. Midway USA has the Garmin 62ST on Clearance for $231. That's $218 off. I just bought one and they have about 20 left at this point.

You dog gone sons of stick flickers! Sorry, I just wanted to say that at least one time. It's kinda fun, I like it. Like a lot of things in life, I suppose the biggest deciding factor has to be the choices people make. I can honestly say, Arizona, in general has a higher grade of hunter. You just can't go down to the local store and buy a 12 pack of beer, a deer tag and a box of ammo here in AZ. That thins a lot of the yahoos out right off the top. The amount of dedication that an Arizona hunter puts into his or her pursuits is exceptional compared to other places. As far as ones choice of weapon, I am a little biased. My idea of light and fast for elk is my 300gr cast bullet doing close to 2300fps, That's super fast and flat shooting compared to, say, a 450gr bullet doing 1700fps. And it is plenty effective to as far as you wanna shoot, a whole 250 yards. Whhoooooeeeee!!!!

I'm getting old and my eyes are a goin'. I don't know if I could tell the difference between a coyote and one of them there mexicali dogs they call wolves. -
I think the fact that the antlers were not broken is testimony to how young that young buck is. I bet that old timer showed the prodigal young buck the ropes through this last hunting season. They are 100% public land, but I have only seen them twice and I haven't seen them now for two months, but they wouldn't have antlers now so I wouldn't know them if I saw them. maybe I won't be hunting these bucks. Unless I take up archery and go after him, but that is not likely this year.

I'll add a pic I took during javelina season. The deer in the back is an old timer and his beams were as thick as my wrists. The one in the front was still a bambi, but his antlers were enormous. The young one didn't have mass, but I bet this fall it will be a monster. The arrows are pointing to the top of the baby deer's rack.

Lee's costs are well below anything else I know of. I just got a Lee .360" round ball two banger. I am going to use it to make dual alloy bullets. The .360" round ball with 50%ww/50%pb alloy drops from mold weighting 70gr and a hardness level of 14bhn when water quenched. When I am casting my "hunting bullets for my 444, I'll melt the 50/50 into the nose of bullet. Once the alloy is fully melted in the mold's nose, I'll fill the cavities up with straight ww. Bullets are dropped from mold right into water. The resulting water quenched bullet will have a soft nose, but rest of bullet is very hard to withstand high velocity loads. The soft point will improve terminal performance when velocities drop to the 1700-1500 fps velocities.

3085 limited opportunity antlerless for me. Limited opportunity is million times better than no opportunity. Yesterday, I saw more deer than I have seen in whole rest of the time that I have been in Arizona. If I can get a buck tag for one of those same GMUs, then I have a full hunting season ahead of me.
-
I wonder what a bull that scored 666 would look like? I know, two main beams on both sides.
-
I put in fo some good hunts, but then I put a low opportunity hunt as a last option. So the results were going to be a yippee or a dang, now what? Well, I got the dang now what hunt #3085. Dang now what?
-
their number crashed for a few, but it's back
-
-
Man they had the list of leftover tags and everything and then they pulled it off line.
-
they pulled the announcement from the website
-
Their own website says the results are available.
-
would you not wait until you've posted them before you announced that they were posted?

Any second Ashton Kutchner (SPELLING?) is going to come out from behind a door saying "YOU JUST GOT PUNKED, BRO!!!"

I saw that statement too but when I check, they are not up... Same here. They are messing with us. Them yella-bellied sap suckers.

Many other states do not require residents to win a draw for the opportunity to hunt. Over the counter tags sure make things much easier in other states where there are more elk and less people.

I was flippin' them some guff 'cuz I didn't know there was a 17th date. I was under the impression that the date was the 4th. That was my fault. Now, I am just having fun with this because it's fun. We do act like spoiled children sometimes..

I was driving down the road and looked down at my radio and and I kinda ran into the back of a 78 AMC Pacer stationwagon. Turns out the guy works for the dept and he told me that they had so many problems with credit cards and they got stuff messed up. Now they have to re-credit everybody's card and start over. They will be lucky to get it done this month.

I just got in from the field, is this where the sack kickin party's happening?
-
I was just emailed an invite to an elk hunt in Idaho with a retired outfitter. I don't know if I can do both. Dang.
-
How do you know that?
