Whitewater draw and Wilcox Playa
ghost hunter replied to bluedevil99's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Haven't been out, but did see a couple of Sandhill's fly over the house last weekend. -
Commenting on wolf issue is waste of time...its already been decided
ghost hunter replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
This "sue and settle" has been going on for some time. Those groups get a lot of their funding from the settlement (attorney fees). So...why cant sportsmen groups do the same thing? I'm guessing that they get "standing" from saying that the wolves were here before and we need them back. So, although it would be "after the fact", why cant we sue them after they 'negatively' impact the wildlife and our chosen outdoor activity? Anyone have input on this idea? -
Political Discussions request
ghost hunter replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Re-directing our focus to "politics related to hunting" will probably show that the same people, or group of people, who are causing problems elsewhere are the same ones causing problems for the hunting community. Focusing our efforts a little closer to home, might be fun. And a way to maybe actually see results. -
I agree that its a poorly conceived idea. Was there the last weekend of the turkey season and they were driving it like it WAS paved. Better find a different way to BL because everyone will be going 55+

To return a tag, you must have already drawn it, yes?. So, if you are a bunny hugger/tree hugger and draw a tag, not only did you keep someone else from drawing it, you get to give it back too? And keep the bonus pt? As for requiring a doctor to sign that you have a med issue, I'm sure one of those "medical marijuana" docs would give you what ever you need. Sounds like a good idea to me

Saw a sticker on a grey chevy pulling into the employee parking lot yesterday. First one I've ever seen in Bisbee.

Either I shop at sketchy places or all the CC companies are swapping out all their cards. Two weeks ago it was B or A, this week, US Bank (Sportsmans Warehouse). Guess I'll have a whole new bunch before summer... As for the draws, I've always used paper apps with checks. Only had 1 rejected in 40 years and it wasn't for money issues.
-
I agree with 1shot. Have sent checks every year and I sleep like a babe until the draw results come out.

What is really sad is there are more just like him out there and most, if not all, vote.

SV- seems like they are everywhere
ghost hunter replied to ghost hunter's topic in Sticker Sightings!
I must have seen your truck a couple of months ago. It, too, was on the by-pass and turned south on Coronado. Hope you guys enjoyed the day. -
Was waiting to turn onto the bypass from SR 90 when I see a black chevy 4x4 club cab turning right into the east gate of Ft. Huachuca. Huh, interesting. A few minutes later, I turn into the Burger King at the other end of the bypass and see a maroon Ford heavy duty 4x4 sitting in the parking lot. Dang, seems like they were everywhere this morning.

After reading the latest notice from G&F about the 2014 spring apps, I get that they really don't know what they are doing. You can only by a license "on-line" but yet you can drop off your paper tag application at any regional office. Doesn't the paper tag app require a license number? Dohooo Just to get an idea from you all. how many are against a 100% on-line application process?

Must Watch for Every American

I watched that video a couple of times. I think the officer is in trouble with his arrest. If so, I hope Mr. Small sues him for false arrest. -
ethics? how would you handle this situation?
ghost hunter replied to HUNTnTAT2's topic in The Campfire
Personally, I would have had to go say something, especially being that close.. If you don't call them on the behavior, it looks like you condon their behavior. What you did isn't wrong either. Growing up, I never used to see this kind of behavior. Over the past 10-15 years, it seems to happen more often each year. I've tried to come up with a solution other than fist-i-cuffs. What do you think about really stressing ethics and hunter behavior in the Hunter Safety courses with the dialog going along the lines that both child and parent have to hold each other accountable. The ethics portion could also cover vandalism, trespassing etc. -
Good point. It would have been funny to watch them try and fill all that empty air time with re-runs.

I'm glad they told them no. Its time the conservatives started standing up for themselves.

Health insurance premiums to soar 100%-400%
ghost hunter replied to AZ8's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'd read awhile back that the NRA lobbied to have language included in that POS legislation that there is no penalty for refusing to answer the questions about gun ownership. -
THEY COME TO AMERICA II

I've seen him interviewed on TV a couple of times. And yes he shows the part of the immigration debate that never seems to make it to the media. Having been born and raised in Arizona on the border, I'd seen and heard a good portion of it. Don't feel bad, there are a whole lot of people in the US, (me included) that are finally noticing what our elected officials have been, but more importantly, HAVEN"T been doing over the years. If you really want to get fired up, do some research on the "Truethevote" group from Texas and see what they've uncovered. There are other groups all across the US that are finding the same things. And yes, there were the ones who were targeted by the IRS. Your doing your part now, becoming a part of the informed electorate and trying to spread the word.- 1 reply

Tried to send you a PM a couple of times, but if you haven't sold it, I'll take it.

After hearing about "Obama phones", I wondered what that was all about. Couple of months later, I found out that it was a gov't program to provide a 'land line' phone to poor people who couldn't afford one, "for the kids" of course. But since we are a techno society, it quickly, with help from the cell phone companies, evolved into replacing those old 'land line' phones with cell phones. Latest estimate is that 25% of those who have received them exceed the income qualifications to get one. Oh, and it cost the gov't 2.2 Billion a year.

It is time we start voting with our wallets

I've got a GE credit card that I got to get short-term financing. Soon as it is paid off (next month and 6 months early) I'm cutting it in half and sending it back with a note that it is because of their stance on guns. They won'd know that I was gonna cancel it anyway. -
McCain and Flake ROT IN heck!!!
ghost hunter replied to coues7's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I was disappointed as well, but just because they allowed it to come to the floor and be debated, doesn't mean they are going to vote for it. Stay on the phones, letters, and e-mails. This ain't over yet. -
Guys, Give up on the e-mails. They are the least read of all 3 forms of contact to elected officials. Written letters are best, but we're in a time crunch so use the dang phone. Flake: 202-224-4521 McCain: 202-224-2235 Leave the rage out, have your bullet points ready, and try and be tactful.

Haven't tried any thing but the bean burros from Mr. G's, but my daughter-n-law swears by them. She used to live in Yuma. Funny to see their name pop up
