  1. Well got home late last night.we didn’t tag out but I had lots of fun with all my girls. We hunted hard in a tough unit. Lots of snow and memories were made and lots of new friends like Bob and Joe who came out to helped glass. We came across 8 bulls 7 on the last day. Just couldn’t get close enough to close the deal. We got with in 800 yards of a  monster 7x8 on the last day just couldn’t make it happen. One thing I can say is that my girls hunt as hard as anyone and they will have the knowledge to carry on a legacy and show there kids what I have show them. I truly love my girls and they make me a proud father and husband Thanks to all of you guys that lend a hand and gave advise. Hope to see you all next year.082E917E-697E-4A24-9CFA-5D00D5C248AB.thumb.jpeg.d72e9d070d781e820b964ed4336fc2d6.jpegBA5CC289-25FF-4E40-A4C2-40C8D266F34A.thumb.jpeg.94bc8a653123ffce9b44af04cc45f756.jpeg1B555940-8FC1-4768-BBCC-6B6C26E666C2.thumb.jpeg.54602e679d0e8c3857f2afb591970b68.jpegB536FE79-0B90-4EC4-97D3-9FCBAC6CF646.thumb.jpeg.e8100a72c1ba02cefeb6b6b23b8afebb.jpegBC542208-1DF9-4A60-80C3-77A411B529B8.thumb.jpeg.8c7b2a5d718887605805c00b4085738b.jpeg

I have this hunt as well. Weather prevailing I’m hoping to do a backpack style hunt in the wilderness area in hopes of avoiding pressure and finding a decent bull. I was wondering how low they’ve gone already though!

When i scouting I found them to still be high hoping the weather will push the down

  3. They are scattered for sure. Seen a nice bull but he is hanging out on private property so he’s out. I am not that kind of hunter also need to set the example for my kid. Did some glassing in the lower half but some of this canyons aren’t accessible holy crap they are something

  4. My daughter drew a late rifle unit 8 never hunted up there but have scouted 3 times now 5 hour drive each time. Seen a few bulls from the transition to the high country up by Bill willams. Anybody have advise on we’re i get some good glassing done. It’s her first bull hunt  and the baby in the family. Thanks y’all for any help.

  5. Well done. Your daughter, your buddy, and your buddy's dad tagged out in a crowded, tough to hunt, unit. Your daughter learned a great life lesson, "You can't control what happens to you, you can only control how you react to it." And she reacted by filling her tag. That's awesome.

I like that. She did the right thing I don’t know if I would react the same way when I was her age. She is a remarkable young lady.

  6. Congratulations! Nice job having a successful hunt despite dealing with some knuckleheads. Even bigger congratulations for having such a great daughter and raising her right.

Not sure what is going on with the clients of outfitters this year, but it seems that just about every outfitter I know personally has had client shooting struggles. I think they have averaged 10 misses to every hit, many from under 100 yards. I'd lose my mind. I have absolutely no problems with guides or people hunting with guides, but it seems to me that more and more that the average client feels that his checkbook is doing all the prep work needed. One buddy I recently talked with said his client stated his rifle was driving tacks, but kept missing. After a little more probing about the "tack driving" the client explained that it was dead on when he sighted it in for his previous hunt 5 YEARS EARLIER?!?!

I feel the same some people just don’t have a concept on what it really takes to hunt time behind the trigger to scouting out animals. The just pay the fee and take the picture. I don’t know how those guides do it I would loss my mind and take the gun from them .

  7. Well gents just got back yesterday from my daughters first bull hunt in 22N. My buddy and his dad also had tags so we all went together. It was a tough year and had to deal with some in unethical hunters. Found a lot of nice bulls day before the opening of the season but as you all know after the first shot they all run and hide. We had a couple of nice 7x7 picked out but someone had them set aside for some clients I guess. It only took 12 shots to kill one of them. My daughter was bummed but thats hunting. She kept her head high and pushed on and it payed off her and my buddys dad killed theirs on the third day and my buddy on the last day. This is one proud dad she not only help quarter him out she packed two of them on her own. For any of you that hunt that unit you know what I am talking about. It was a good year for her first hunts she killed a mule deer in the kibab also wow and we just found out she is going to graduate high school a year early with honors yeah!post-11270-0-20708900-1512948566_thumb.jpegpost-11270-0-99779000-1512948620_thumb.jpegpost-11270-0-15257900-1512948742_thumb.jpegpost-11270-0-30419200-1512949058_thumb.jpeg
