Ya "Blondie" is by far the coolest colored phased bear I have seen. If I see him on the 30th before I see "Red Strip" I'll shoot him in a heart beat also.

This year has been good to me for bears. Unfortunately I didn't tag out during the archery season but I still have the rifle hunt starting the 30th. I have video of one bear which is a very big boar that has two red strips going down his back.(For some reason I can't upload the video. So if anyone can help that would be awesome) I was able to get to 89 yards before he took off. The other boar is a really cool color phase with a all black head and then all blonde body. Have never seen one like that before. Also saw a sow with 2 Cubs one of which was a cinnamon color.

Hey am always willing to help fellow hunters out with filling tags. If someone has a tag for a animal and I know were exactly a trophy quality animal is. I'll meet you some where and take you right to that spot and let you sling lead. But this is a little different cause the bear we got a video of would be a very good contender for new state record with a bow. I know how some people like to exaggerate about the animals they see but me and the other 2 guys with me easily think he is state record potential. So this spot is staying a secret for now haha.

I wouldn't do camp verde. Check out places in Cottonwood. It's better then Camp Verde and your 5 minutes away from 19a, 6b south, and about 30 minutes or less from 6a. Also you'll have a better chance of finding a 4 bedroom w/pool on a acre or more.

Been a late night tonight. Couldn't sleep so I have been up going through my hunting pack getting it situated for my Bear hunt and I realized I need a bigger pack. Haha. If anyone has any suggestion for a good pack that I could use for a 2-3 day backpacking trip let me hear them. I don't want one that's gonna break the bank though. Haha.

So I have been looking at packs and am thinking one of these 2 I'll go with.

Well thank you guys for the info and I have been looking in to some of these packs. My next question for you guys is what's better internal frame or a external frame? I've done some research on them both but what are yours thoughts. I will say I wish I had a bigger pack the last 2 days I have been scouting for Bear and realized I have way to much gear for my little pack haha.

I did find this pack last night when I was doing some research. It has good reviews but has anyone on here used one of these and what's your thoughts?

My pack now is just a little bigger then a standard backpack.

I finally drew my first Coues tag this year and am stoked. But after getting permission from the wife haha. Am buying a Remington model 700 in 7 mag and I'll be getting either the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 or the Viper 6.5-20x44 PA with a custom hunter turret from http://kentonindustries.com/custom-turrets/vortex. I'll be using Barnes Bullets match grade ammo in 150 or 160 grain bullet. Being that it's my first whitetail tag ever am going all out for this hunt. I plan on holding out for a buck in the high 80s to bigger.

So found out yesterday that I drew unit 21 whitetail. Am pretty pumped it's my first whitetail tag and I've been wanting to chase these grey ghosts for a while now. I have hunted 21 since my first deer hunt when I was 10 but I've always hunted mule deer in the unit never whitetail. I've only ever seen 2 whitetail in the 15 years I've hunted the unit. If anyone has some pointers on where I should start would be helpful. Thank you

Has anyone bought the over the counter archery javi tag and have had success? Am thinking of buying one this new year but the units they let you hunt I have never hunted or been there once. Am thinking of doing 5A and 5B. If there is anyone on here that could maybe point me in a direction to start. Any info you can spare would be helpful to me. Am not asking for honey holes or for someone to take me right to them. Just a general area to start. Thank you.

Not much rut activity in 6b south or down in the lower elevations of 19a. Went out today 19a saw all does no bucks and 6b south last Sunday and same thing all does no bucks.

You can't kill a big buck if you leave it in your garage. As far as the blind, brush it in real good and use rope to tie the brush so it stays. So I wasn't sure where to post this under so I figured I would just post it under here. But my question is what are some ways you guys lock up your tree stands from being stolen when you have them set up? I have a ladder style stand that am wanting to set up in a area I have been seeing some good bucks but I don't want to worry about it getting stolen from the area. I'll be taking it down also at the end of the season. Also I have a ground blind to I want to set up but also don't want it stolen either. Any ideas would help thank you.

I plan on setting them both up on game trails that go in to a water hole. But ill be setting them 100 to 150 yards away from the water.

Haha if I had deer going through my garage I would lock them up in there.

How did you keep it warm? Propane heaters or does it have a hole in the roof for a wood stove?

I have seen little bucks with does and one of the manture bucks I have been watching but they aren't really chasing the does. Two small bucks I have watched walk up to some does and sniff but never did anything after that. I have a feeling it is gonna kick off real soon though.

How many people hunted 6B south this year and had success. Am thinking of hunting it in January since it is so close to my house. Any decent bucks taken out of there
