That's too bad. I have a Clarke kit for a 1911. I think they're better in steel frame pistols but not by much. You're better off, I don't think the Rowland is worth it, except for maybe the novelty factor. If they are going to do this for polymer pistols, it should be a purpose built pistol and not a kit. It has almost 2x the power of a non +p acp. That's a lot of battering on those contact points. The new spring helps a little.

    Ultimate Coyote Gun

Probably an AR type rifle with a good optic. Also in camo. I'm not really an AR guy although I have a few. Back when I was killing a lot of coyotes, it didn't matter what rifle because we just left them there for the buzzards. Because of that, I would use my 270 most of the time. That worked out well because I would shoot it so much that the rifle became an extension of me. I would use it for everything even those 4" rocks on the side of a mountain 250 yards out. There are still times when I make a kill or hit a rock with it and cannot tell you, or even remember where I aimed or how high I held over. That's one way to look at it. My varmint rifle is a model 700 223. I've used it for about 18 years and can't imangine another rifle for that purpose. My dad's varmint gun was a sako vixen 6mm ppc. That was another good caliber. These questions are tough. It's kind of splitting hairs. Before long, you could have 5 different varmint rifles. I have that type of problem with big game rifles that are all pretty much the same. What I mean is, I have a 25-06, 270, 280 AI. Don't get me wrong, I love guns and none of us do what we do to try to be practical, it's a hobby that we love. But sometimes I open the safe and have a hard time deciding what rifle to shoot. Most of the time I pick the 26 year old 270.

    Arizona Unit 4B

I always dream of getting that big Bull. I waited 20 years for an early rifle tag in one of the primo units. I spent the whole hunt shopping for a big bull. I must have passed literally 100 Bulls. The best I found would have been a 360-370 Bull if he wasn't busted. I don't mind busted up Elk as long as their main beams are clean. This one wasn't. He was broken up to where he was a 6x4 and looked silly and lopsided. My first Bull was one I got in a left over hunt that had broken points and maybe scores 314 but has main beans that go on and on. Since the early hunt kind of taught me that no matter the unit, there aren't 380 bulls everywhere, I will be focusing on what you call "Good Bulls". I hope I find one in my 4B hunt this year.

What is this? Marker for buried treasure?

That's what I was thinking. Probably something nearby.
  6. Is that rifle a Stag? I wanted to buy the 7L Hunter for years. The carbine should be a lot of fun too.

hey Amanda this is a crock of shoot...

Sometimes a foul word helps drive a point home. I understand those people that have kids that never hear bad words. They are doing their best to give them sheltered, coddled lives. Let's not forget to forgive those that swear against us.

    SOLD

$500 is about right. I also have one from that era. I don't shoot it very much, sometimes years before I take it out but when I do, it's a lot of fun. I go through around 80 rounds in a weekend when I shoot it. I would say keep it, find another way to get $500. But if you haven't shot it in 30 years maybe it's time. Think about it, it's nice and looks like it's been taken care of.

    Found Old Plane Crash

Cool find. I'm surprised there's that much left after so long. People scrap those out usually. Keep quiet as to where it is. If you go back, really look at the engine. It might have some manufacturers casting or labels somewhere. From there you can check to see what kind of plane it was. It may be a prat and whitney since it's two rows and a 18 cylinder. There were a few planes using that engine.

    9mm revolvers

Does anyone here have the S&W 986? It seems like it would be fun. I don't need a new gun, but you know how enthusiasts are. I have a 9mm AR and I love S&W so I really want purchasing one to make sense. I've thought about this one for about a year now and would like to hear from you guys. They make one that's 6.5" too, but thinking the 5" will carry better in the field.

    Bear Mountain

I bought four rifles, one bow and all of my bow hardware there. I went I there to order a rifle that I just had to have about 3 years ago. It seemed like the person was trying harder to get me out the door rather than trying to find me a gun. Ï won't go back anymore. Just so my post isn't all negative, I will say that Howie over there doesn't have a bad attitude.

    I ain't afraid of ???

Good story. I work around a lot of immigrants and it's neat to talk to them. I worked with an engineer off and on from Venezuela for the past 5 years. I love the guy. Both he and his wife immigrated here and are very educated. His wife has a dentist office in Goodyear and speaks three languages. Another lady friend of mine is from Iran, she has the best accent I've heard. I can sit there and listen to her talk about anything. I know exactly what you are talking about with the language barrier and it's nice you made the effort to talk anyway, most people wouldn't. One of my Girlfriends is Mexican and her English isn't the best. It's still fun trying. I get to work on my Spanish and she gets to improve her English.

    'Filmed in AZ' favorites...

I'm hoping someone makes this into a movie. It's not really an AZ movie, but a 4 corners movie. It's about the guys that attempted to rob the Ute Casino and got into a shootout. https://books.google.com/books/about/Dead_Run.html?id=0s4s2RlNUcMC&hl=en

    'Filmed in AZ' favorites...

I don't have a favorite, but Easy Rider is up there because so much was filmed in Az. A few from near my town are Natural Born Killers Midnight Run Another Oliver Stone movie was U Turn, filmed in Superior. I'm real surprised there are not that many movies filmed here. Most movies that have Az as a location, only have a small part filmed here.

    Application Question

I will follow up with the department tomorrow, but want to see if anyone here knows the answer. I have a friend that is interested in hunting. He is not a citizen yet, but has a SS card. He's been here for almost 28 years legally and works. I just finished up my application and noticed there is the question about being a US citizen, and if not, the dept will generate a number for you as a foreign person. He already has a SS, so why generate the number. Anyone have experience with a case like this? Can he even handle a firearm legally?

AES 2017 Banquet April 8th - almost sold out

I can't make it this year. I usually tag along with people that get a table, but can't this year. I bought a few tickets for the 3 rifle raffle and noticed Rich Williams is the President. That's great. I worked around him for 12 years and really got to know him. He did a lot for the NWTF. He also did a lot of work in the electrical field for apprentices. He is very well connected.
