I think the confrontation started out badly. I’m kind of like everyone here and think I do no wrong and always have the right way of thinking, and when I’m a victim, I deserve better and command respect. However, my time spent in my career dealing with different egos and attitudes have taught me a few tricks for a situation like that where using the correct words and body language can make the two parties comfortable with each other from the start. Them being there can switch from you being annoyed to you sharing some good cooking and brews. The Mexicans I know always bring the good stuff to camp.

Wow! Zero to 100 quick. I’m not too put out by that as that’s how a lot of old timers would think. They would choose loose chickens over the family dog in most occasions. I had a grandfather that could have done the same thing. It would be interesting to hear more memorable reactions he had as you were growing up if you don’t mind sharing.

I was talking about these photo radar tickets a long time ago and found out that most of the people that pay them are immigrants. For some reason they don’t mess around and pay them quickly. I guess they think it will get them into big trouble if they don’t. I talked to a few I know from Mexico, Iran and Canada and they always pay.

I would get them all over the state. Usually in Star Valley, Show Low or Pima Road. I always ignored them. One time a star valley ticket was served to me in Mesa. I paid it. The person serving me tricked me in my front yard and got me pretty good because I was alert to being caught and I have to give him credit for that. I got a few in the company vehicle and the office manager would forward them to me and I paid to not cause any trouble. All others went away. I’m not talking like I’m a wild man, all were the minimum like 10 or 11 mph over and nothing reckless, I just did a lot of driving back then, like around 50,000 miles a year. That much and you’re going to get something.

That’s exactly why I quit going there. I bought the membership years ago and thought I could just go to the long range. I was way wrong. Going to competitions to get access is a waste of time to me. No offense to those that do that, it’s just not my thing. I’m sure it’s fun. My thing is to do some serious shooting at a nice place. I’m not stupid, I know they have liability and insurance issues with that and everyone thinks they’re real safe and know their way around a gun and don’t think they need to prove it to anyone or need to be told what to do. I’m not one of those, I think it’s important to earn the privilege and could follow any set of rules given to me. I called and talked to whoever was in charge and asked if I could pay to take safety tests, certifications or other qualifications in lieu of competitions to get access. Couldn’t happen. I put up with the main range for a while and stopped going.

Commercial definitely. It’s just a better place to be over Residential. There are a few Commercial Electrical contractors that will hire him and he can go to school, once a week. The program is called IECA. I’m sure you can google it and find those that participate. When finished with the apprentice program, he will get a raise and be on his way to being a foreman, at least for a small TI. I know plenty that have been through the program and it was nice to watch them grow from a helper to a leader. One of the main persons over there was the head of AZ elk society. https://iecaz.org/

I have an old Leupold Vari x III 4.5-14x50 from the late 90s on mine. It’s one of the best scopes I have for the ranges you mentioned. It’s been discontinued long ago, but if you find something in that power range from a good company like Leupold, Zeiss, Swarovski etc, you should be good. Steiner has a few too but most I mentioned are going to be around $700. Used scopes are never a bad idea if they are known to not be counterfeit. That usually means buying from someone you know a little. I’ve had good success before doing that. As far as mounting a scope, it’s important to have all the tools Cazador listed. I have several of different types and it always helps to level it to death before torquing it down. That’s where it may help to have an odd level to place at random places to double check. Scope mounting is one of my favorite things when using all tools available and being patient when going about it.

I would say go with a 60° action since it may be your last. Terminus make a good one that fits the Remington footprint. I really like not opening a bolt way up there and the smaller throw has other advantages too.

There are a lot of positions to shoot from. I’m not anti Bipod, I have my share of them, 5 total with three different manufacturers, but they feel like too much when I’m carrying everything and have something bulky near the end of my rifle. When I’m doing long range, I use them but most of my deer or elk shots are from 75-400 yards. Something I have confidence in without a bipod. im a lefty and this position feels real good for me. Notice how he sits on his foot. A good thing to do is try them all and see what works. Doing that can only help, not hurt. After that, bring out the bipod.

I never had bipods or clamp or any device to hold my rifle. I was about the same age too. Maybe it’s where I grew up and was blessed with a lot of plinking, rabbit hunting, prairie dog shooting and just getting out very often that helped me. Before I had my .270, I was using the old man’s 257 Roberts on coyotes and used what was available like prone, kneeling, fence post or tree limb. When I got the 270, we went out and shot the heck out of it. So much that I could hit with decent accuracy no matter what since the gun was kind of a part of me. Some of the times we went out, we didn’t fire a shot but I carried the rifle the whole time that it imprinted and seemed easy to use after a while. Kind of like the military drills where they do pointless moves over and over that the rifle feels so useful, it’s kind of a part of you. That’s my recommendation, practice with practical shots. Bench rest work is good too. While at the bench or plinking, maybe use a bipod periodically if you’re worried about it, but don’t leave the bipod on while he is young. I think a bipod is not a good permanent rifle fixture, only temporary.

That’s very nice of you. It might be hard to get rid of it even though it’s free and in good shape. It’s not the grey color that everyone has to put in their house because they saw it on tv.

They were incredibly stupid. I’m not a real fisherman, but I know what big fish are. The biggest I ever caught was a little over 5 pounds and it was the most impressive thing to me for a while. They added around 8 pounds of weight. They really must have chit for brains to think they could put that much weight past pro fisherman that know way more than a regular guy like me. Part of the punishment for them should be getting their head examined and followed up with a procedure or counseling to help them better understand how dumb that really was.

I agree. We did a whole job in pro press and it’s code legal and holds up to this day. If the looks of it bothers you, I understand. Maybe cover it with insulation since it’s a small area. If you do a good job with wrapped insulation, it will still be a looker.

I recently purchased the Steiner Predator 4 in 4-16 x 50. I was planning on putting it on a AR Varminter but changed my mind. I already have a Meopta FFP on an AR that’s real similar, so it would be kind of a bad idea. My plan now is to put it on my 223 bolt m700 when I get it rebarreled in about a year and use the Leupold Vari x III 3-15x50 that’s on it to put on the Varminter. The Steiner looks to be a good scope. I don’t think I will ever go with Vortex. I know a lot of people that like them, I just don’t have the respect for them yet. I see them as a company that has its success from marketing rather than reputation. Vortex was kind of pushed onto us I think. Camera land had a special where a new Steiner scope came with good quality rings. Keep a look out for that.

They’re one of the few animals I don’t shoot. I don’t have a problem with those that do, it’s just not for me for some reason.

I had a Black 2003 F 150 4 door XLT 4x4 with the 4.6L with 191,000 miles. I was the original owner. I regret trading it in. It was my first new vehicle and I was making good money at the time and went overboard with its maintenance. So overboard that I would put a new battery every two years weather it needed it or not and it never had any door dings or interior mess. It was a real cherry truck. I got $5750 at trade in in 2015 for a 2016 Sierra.

Big Daddy’s looks good. Cibo does too, but I think they left a lot of the pizza makin ingredients off of their pizza. They left out a good 1 3/4” of cheese and other items off of the edge. No big deal, still looks good, everyone makes mistakes and it would be something to ask for on the next order with them.

I honestly hope this sells. With 181,000 miles, It really makes me feel so much better about how much value is left in my two trucks.

Like I said, pizza for me is ok anyway. Honestly it’s kind of boring and like you said disheartening from the start. I’m no longer excited about pizza anyway and haven’t been for a while. Part of me expects it to be bland from the beginning but it’s never so bad I can’t handle it. If it’s too bad, it’s easier for me to forget it. I love Italian food, but I would rather get something else Italian than a pizza. I get real disheartened when I’m around a bad taco or beans, even a tortillia that’s not up to par can really bother me like you are talking. I guess it’s 43years of hanging out with, dating, and getting invited over for supper with different Mexicans has made me very picky of what’s good out there. Rarely is pizza talked about any more but we still talk about items like Tortas, Pasole and Tamales. When I’m other places that are known for having good Pizza, then I will take notice and be serious about where I get my pizza.

Ok. Three in the whole state. You would be surprised what Detroit can do. Someone from Italy like yourself probably find over a dozen places that meet your requirements over there. Pizza is hard to dislike. Even a bad pizza is still ok with me. I’m not too picky when it comes to pizza. I’m very picky with Mexican food which we have plenty of good places. It’s geography. We just don’t have a lot of good Pizza or Seafood. At least nothing like our Mexican food. You can go to any small or large town and find real good Mexican food. Try asking who has the best Mexican food in Globe and see what kind of response you get. Then ask where the best pizza there is.
