    Chargemaster Lite

I use the Chargmaster®️ Not the Lite. I haven’t had too much trouble, but I can tell it throws a few charges too heavy. What I do whenever I reload is have three scales on the table. I have a balance beam, and a RCBS electronic scale. Along with the scale that’s in the Chargemaster, that makes three. It’s easy to spot when it’s too heavy. The way you tell is when it’s slowly trickling powder, at the end before it beeps, it dispenses a few tenths that must have been built up in the tube. When I reload, I’m constantly checking the powder charges to be as perfect as possible. It takes time but it’s worth it. You’re better off buying another one and chitcan that one. RCBS has a newer version that I think I might get on my next big purchase. Take the time to look around. There might be something way better that we don’t know about. The RCBS Chargemaster is made in China. If you look at other reloading forums, thrrr might be something way better out there made in Germany, USA, or Japan.
  2. I’ve wondered that too. If they try to sue the state, they’ve lost my support. I heard of one person in Utah years ago that ran over and killed his toddler son because he was in a lifted truck and didn’t see him. It was a case of him talking to someone while he was in the drivers seat and the kid wandered around the truck and ended up in front when he pulled away. No charges were filed. I can see how that could happen and I hate lifted trucks for that reason. I feel he didn’t need to go to jail to learn from that mistake, negligence or whatever you call it.
  3. Fair enough. What do you think is a fair sentence?
  4. That’s the negligence Stanley was talking about. Then there’s degrees of negligence. You mentioned two or three in your scenario. 1. Drinking 2. History of drinking. The third could be driving but I’ll consider you meant drinking and driving as one. Drinking and driving has been socially unacceptable for a while now and I don’t think you’ll get many people that think someone who’s killed while doing that needs to escape justice.
  5. It has a lot to do with intentions. With a gun, it’s hard to have innocent intentions. It also has a lot to do with what society feels justice is worth. It serves justice to lock up the guy with a gun, weather or not there’s remorse his sentence will reflect. A loving parent(s) that made a mistake and cost the lives of their kids, some would say you don’t need prison for that one to serve justice. If they did what they did with malice, then they deserve prison.
  6. I have a question for those that want to see these people go down. How much time in prison do you think is enough?

A3 Golden Boy Jed Larson Convicted of Poaching

I wonder if they would have made that honest mistake if they were going after a cow instead of a big bull.

A3 Golden Boy Jed Larson Convicted of Poaching

I agree oz31p. I hear about it all the time. Another common trait about Poachers is the use of the Dumb Card. They had no idea they were in the wrong place, or didn’t know the boundary was there. It’s about getting that big animal at any cost, and if there’s trouble, plead ignorance and you’ll get a deal because courts are willing to forgive pretty easily crimes like this.

    Fishing at ROSY

I drove by Roosevelt today. It looks like it has another 50’ to go before it reaches the top of the dam.

    Crappie

In the late 80s I would go to there in a Folbot and my dad would paddle and I would troll. I remember using green or yellow jigs and you could see the bluegill come out of the canyon shadows and strike at the jig. It seems like the lure was always too big for those small fish. It really was a nice place, maybe not for fish, but a nice place until the 2000s. I wish they would improve it.

    DELETE

Awesome gun. I have the FN FNX non tactical. It’s truly an ambi pistol. I don’t know why others don’t do that. I’ve always shot pistols strong hand/weak hand my whole life. It’s just the way I was taught. With this, strong hand or weak hand is the same. Other manufacturers come close, but not quite all the way like was done here. There are plenty out there where the mag release is reversible, but a right hand, and where a ambi safety/ decocker is aftermarket. And not too many have the slide release on both sides. Good luck. I would have bought this if it was two months ago.

    WTB Left Hand 22LR

http://www.lithgowarms.com/la-101-crossover/ i don't have it but always wanted to get one. Keep an eye on gunbroker and you may find one in left hand. They have real positive reviews.

    WTB Left Handed 20g Shotgun

Think about the Browning BPS. I have one in 20g and love it. They eject out of the bottom which, if you think about it, is better. There are a pile of shells to clean up at your feet rather than varying distances to another direction. The BPS is affordable too and a righty can use it as well.

    Custom Gunstocks

I haven’t picked a stock guy yet. It’s going to happen, I just haven’t been as aggressive as I should be. Work has been very busy the past 8 months with nary a Saturday off. I’ve always liked that word, Nary. I rarely get an opportunity to use it in a sentence. I will have something nice to show in the next month or so. It will be two years since I ordered a Cooper Western Classic 22mag with AAA+ walnut and I’m told it’s getting close.
  16. I'm interested in getting a high grade walnut stock made. Is there anyone left that can make them? It seems like I can get any composite or fiberglass stock I want, but to have someone build a wood stock, it's not happening. I know it will be expensive and want it to have the proper LOP and cheek weld. So far, what I'm finding is that the old timers that did it are no longer with us and the younger guys can't or won't do it. Maybe I need to forget about it. I'm in construction and I see the same thing happening with qualified trim carpenters.

How are you selling your guns?

If you’re worried about anything, the FFL is the best way to go. Good luck with that. A used gun doesn’t go for a whole lot of money and a background check is $20. Some of the cheap folks could have a problem with that.

How are you selling your guns?

Appearance tells you a lot about a person, especially the eyes. If you look at the Theater shooter or Adam Lanza, they have those dead scary eyes. I don’t have a problem if they want to see my license, it’s not going to backfire for them. A good way to handle that would be to copy theirs, the sellers, as well. They should be as comfortable as you because you are trying, like them, to cover yourself.

    Your First Big Game Rifle?

My first was a Browning Stainless Stalker in .270. I still take it as a back up gun. the first I purchased was a m700 300 RUM that I had turned into a 300 WBY. The second was a m700 30-06 and turned it into a .280 AI. I use this one the most.

    I'm Still Alive -- barely

I’m glad to hear you’re ok. I enjoy your posts. You seem like a been there, done that kind of guy and it’s nice to hear your stories.
  21. Exactly, there’s nothing. All that could maybe be seen is PMs. I always delete them as soon as I’m done reading them. It’s just drama.
  22. What people need to think about is intent. Was it the intention to hack, or to make a funny. It’s pretty easy for me to believe it’s a joke and nothing more. No personal info was shared or leaked or even looked at probably. I know we have to add drama if it’s not there, but try to be smart and not emotional about it.

  24. Hurt feelings? That’s happening a lot more now. I always thought Lark was a tough person.
