    Here we go

The problem is social media all around. Every offense is a hanging offense now. That's why I have never had a facebook or twitter account. If I did I'm sure I will have offended tons of people by now just by posting photos, videos, questions or retweets. If it's political, forget about it. Every one out there is so trigger happy that they can post their disgust and slowly build up a few thousand likes and now there's a newsworthy headline. Take a look here in the church thread about how divisive our social media is. I want bad to reply to it but if I did, some would think I'm a horse's butt, I'm not saying which side, It's better I don't post and have everyone believe I don't care about it. I think society is slowly wising up about outrage. I think in a few years it will take a lot to shock us.

    Custom Gunstocks

That's exactly what I was thinking about. I'm in the process of getting a barreled action built in 6mm ppc and since I have all of the practical sporters I want, this will be a showpiece that will see the range and maybe some prairie dog shooting. I won't be hunting or fighting brush, fences, and weather with it so it could be an heirloom that should stay nice forever.

    Custom Gunstocks

I've thought about doing that. I would want to meet face to face with them before hand to personally select the blank and go over options which is why I kind of wanted someone in AZ. About 35 years ago my dad got a model 52 Winchester stock custom made by Hunters Haven in Flagstaff that turned out really good. It's one of the nicest I've seen and it doesn't even have checkering.

Obscure Places With Great Taxidermy in AZ

So far the three that I can think of have been named. Hensley's had a lot more up than what's there now. In the late 90s early 2000s they had some real monsters. Two that I can think of have been taken back from the owners. Back then, some in the hunting community would display their trophies for a while there.

    Horny Toads

I was talking to someone at work about the drought and how I would hear frogs at night from my bedroom in the late 80s and how those days are gone. He brought up Horny Toads and how scarce they are and it made me think, I haven't seen one in maybe 25 years. Before that I would see at least one a week. Do any of you still see them?

    Are private messages now public?

It's from 4 hours ago. It's the one that says RL320>ErnestoC. You can't click on it but you can see the message sent.

    1979 International Scout II

I bought this in January with the intention to restore it. My plans changed. It has the 345 v8 and automatic transmission. I have the soft top to go with it. Asking $4500. Located in East Mesa.

    Are private messages now public?

Maybe I'm wrong. It looks like RL320 sent a message to ErnestoC and all of us can read it. I was going to send myself a message to try it out and the box says public instead of private message.

    1979 International Scout II

I've been told that by a few people. I might do that later. The trouble is I'm very nervous about Craigslist for a number of reasons, but I might find the courage somehow. I'm not too desperate to sell, at least for another year or so.

    Beginner

Follow everything Lance said. I think the reloading manuals are the first thing to start with. You can read up on the fundamentals in those because they're about half load data and half educational.

Thoughts On A Shotgun: Keep or Sell?

My opinion is sell it. I have a few reasons. One is because I'm not a big shotgun guy. I have three and those seem to be enough for me. Another is because he would be getting a rifle that he will use and not something that will sit there. I understand the sentimental value but, maybe find another hand-me-down and put a lot of love in it. This is coming from someone that has 45+ guns and about 20 of them were passed on to me.

Right handed left eye dominant shooter?

I'm right handed but I shoot left handed. My right eye has 20/200 vision so I really can't shoot right handed. For 20 years I shot pistols right handed but recently switched to left handed and my accuracy went way up. You think there's not enough rifles out there for leftys, try looking for pistols that are good for leftys.

    Where does the responsibility lie?

Personal responsibility is long gone. Everyone knows that. There's no hope. every once in a while there will be a good judge that believes in responsibility but that's rare. All you can do is get out and enjoy it while you can and don't let it bother you.
  17. I see signs in Apache County that read "Cattle Guard Bicycles Cross with Caution". It would be interesting to know what happened. People are really stupid I guess.

    What's up with this?

I hope nobody is to blame except for them. We're all guilty of hot rodding around from time to time. I try to take the back roads to and from Holbrook when I drive from Mesa. I stay away from that 300 road and a few others near there because of the UTVs. It's insane how many there are and how reckless they are especially during the weekends. I just take the 504 to the Territorial road. Then another route is through Chevlon Retreat. There are less of them out there. This kind of reminds me of a close call I had during the OTC elk hunt when the area north of Hutch Ranch was open. There were so many people out there it was crazy. It was kind of like people gathering at the Cinders or Sand Dunes. In some places you could see UTVs and trucks kicking up dust for miles around and campsites all over the place. A lot of us were serious hunters and some of them brought the girlfriends and their friends. I was driving in the junipers trying to find a quiet place and a UTV with a couple of good looking women turned a corner and about hit me head on. It's hard to describe how close we came to hitting each other. Very scary.

What happened to the topic "Where you Born in Arizona" that had a survey and discussions about being born or not in Arizona?

    In search of Civil engineer

I work with a few PEs and they are expensive. Try to look at it as money well spent. If you're a one and done client, you will likely pay more than the people that use them a lot. I work for a company that uses them a lot and some of the RFIs I get from them are no charge. That doesn't mean I can bring my personal needs to them and expect them to comp what they do, I wouldn't even ask it of them. One trick that works for me is to sketch out what I need and make some notes of my ideas and propose that to them. If it works, they can stamp it. If not, they generate their own from my sketch. You can use a site plan for this. Any information you can put together like inverts, rim, and finish floor elevations, fixture count, and existing sizes of pipe diameters and distances. Try to include grade elevations as well. Also include utility locations and evevations if necessary. That helps with a lot of the thinking they have to do to generate a plan. It makes it faster for them. That works for anything Engineering like Structural, Mechanical, Civil etc.

    Trigger set

Good topic. 2lb for my sporting rifles. I recently got two rifles, a 22 mag Cooper and 6.5 creedmoor in Remington 40X that have a 1lb trigger I use for targets and long range. I'm thinking about that for the sporters now.

    Beam Me Up Scotty

I sometimes act stupid on purpose to be funny. One of my favorite is when someone I'm expecting pulls up next to me. I'll ask "are you with Weinberger?" The truck, dumpster, and his uniform all say Weinberger.
