What is daily permit on rez to fish now?

Last time I was there was close to 15 years ago and my buddy had his fishing gear stolen right off the boat at lunch. Not sure I want to pay to fish a lake with no bass or crappie in any numbers. Just was not sure if they had come back over the last five years. May try but still undecided. Thanks.

I have the rifle Unit 23 hunt but have never hunted there before. I understand that there is a large number of tags there. I will have my 9 year old daughter and 10 year old niece but we are not road hunters. The kids hike with me. My questions are where the areas to avoid the concentrations of hunters? Where do most hunters camp and hunt? What areas should I avoid because of this? If you have some areas you are willing to share feel free to pm me directly. I plan on at least two scouting trips but want to make them count. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you all for your help on a new unit. After scouting we settled on a completely different area of the unit than was suggested. We hunted through the heat for two days before taking a couple of javelina just near evening. The girls had a super time! Thank you all for your input. We had a great time. I ended up getting my javelina at extremely close range with the 308. No meat loss at all! Looking forward to hunting there again. Only issue was TONS of hunters and lots of shooting plus tons of guys on atvs running every road or trail possible without ever stopping to actually hunt. Does not bother me at all, never drove a single dirt road or trail entire hunt!

Claymore mines and trip wires. Make sure they are pointed in the right direction. Solar LED motion sensors along with cameras? Deter first with the motion lights, or capture with the video if deterrence is unavoidable? Claymores as backups though.

Sounds good. I am going to try to find the areas with the most hunters and avoid those areas. Lots of country just trying to find best chance of some semblance of solitude with the kids. Sounds like some places in this unit turn into Baghdad with all the gunfire.
