Blame Obamacare! Crazy how they all died like they simply dropped in the tracks wherever they stood, which sounds like was the case. Can you imagine the horrible site of that as you see 99 of your friends instantly drop in their tracks and die? Yikes!!!

Finally, you will see that the buttplate on the 22lr/410 is really not an issue, just slightly larger at the bottom but perfect at the top. I must have ordered the wrong replacement part. -

Close up of the 24S-C model. Note both receivers have the beautiful case hardening that comes with age as long as it is not exposed to the elements. -

Ask and yee shall receive! Thanks for the inquiries and requests for pics, here they come! Top gun is the 22lr over 20 gauge in outstanding condition, bluing is terrific for being it age, wood is also great! It is the 24S-C model. Bottom gun is the 22.r over 410, also in very good condition with excellent bluing and very nice wood. The buttplate is slightly too large on the bottom but can be shaped properly. Note the missing trigger guard. Also note it is the much more collectible side barrel selector switch. -
Not a problem at all!!!! I feel bad that I have not had much of a chance to catch up with you either. Hope surgery recovery is going well. Free bump for a great gun!

My Rights As An American replied to Chimichanga's topic in Classified Ads
Sorry guys, did not mean to "hijack" the thread in anyway with my earlier comments. Chimichanga has a great set of binos for sale, hope that is not lost in any of this useful conversation for another thread. Bump back up to get everyone to check out the binos! -
Should have stopped by, I still have your snake gaiters on hold! Wish I could afford the 1100!!!!!!!!!! Nice gun, never shot one myself though.

Nice you got new ones. Sent a scope to them once and they wanted over $1,000 just to replace a few internal parts, not the tube or any glass. Decided to just hold onto it. Scope spent a night in a bay on Kodiak Island after the small boat my brother was in capsized. Hunter found it the next day on his model 700 along with a few other guns and stuff when the tide receded. -
Nice gun, shoots great! Trust me!!!

Starting to panic... Lots of questions!
My Rights As An American replied to Scooter's topic in Elk Hunting
I think this is the one I used last year. Watched it like three times and then remembered it for when I did my elk. All by myself, it was not bad. With a second person and a sharp knife, I would have been done in about 30 minutes. Surprisingly easy after you start the process!!! And as long as you do not puncture the insides when cutting (trust me, bad idea!!!), then you will be fine. Have water very close by in case an accident happens and you need to wash guts off meat quickly. -
He has not even been on the site since December 2011!!!!! I am sure the price is a little more negotiable now than what is listed!!!

Is this even still available? It was posted FIVE years ago!

Tons of free online videos and resources on how to DIY butchering, but DDR is correct, proper field care is by far and away the most important aspect of butchering. When it is on the butcher table, a poorly cut steak can always be ground up instead but a rancid carcass cannot be saved under any scenario. Keep the meat cool and clean in the field.

Would not be incredibly hard to prove this, if someone found a tank full of motor oil in the water in Unit 9 that would be a decent enough trail of evidence to begin an investigation. I would recommend that this person contact Game and Fish and let them know what they were told. That would be harassing wildlife at a minimum I would bet. If they are still running cattle in those areas, I am not sure the ranchers would be pleased at all if this were true. He needs to at least let Game and Fish know this, but it sounds fishy that these guys would actually admit to doing something like this to a total stranger.

Did it myself last year with a dull pocket knife (do not ask!) in less than 2 hours and it was very clean and easy. Just watched a bunch of videos first. This year it should be less than an hour by myself with a good knife. Tie legs up and keep the cape spread out. That will keep the meat very clean. -

By the time you pay for the elk processing, you can buy a meat grinder with stuffer attachment, wrapping paper, etc for about 1.5 times the cost of processing. Then it is all money saved and higher quality forever on. Tons of YouTube videos on processing, what cuts of meat are what, etc. make a real nice friend of someone who does it now, help them and learn faster than you think. An old fridge plugged in outside should suffice for the three or four days of curing. Cutting takes me about 8 total hours of labor to debone, grind, cut, wrap and clean up an elk. Maybe a little more.

I will say, STAY FAR AWAY FROM FOUR PEAKS!!!! They are by far the WORST processor, WORST customer service I have EVER seen in almost any industry I have ever been involved in. Others may have had different opinions, but I cannot say enough about how horrible they are.
