I run Varget in my .243. Very consistant and pretty clean burning.

goinhuntn- NR can not draw a tag for early archery in 8 unless they are in the bonus point pass. Over the last 5 years, the bonus point pass has been 8-9 points. All non-res tags are allocated thru the bonus pass for early archery in this unit. As far as late archery, I doubt there will ever be any left over permits for 8 after bonus and 1-2 pass, so NR have 0% chance of drawing in your first scenario. your dad- had about a 22% chance of drawing the late rifle bull hunt in 8 last year. So should be close to that again this year. Again, probably no left overs to consider his 3rd, 4th and 5th.

The reason some guys put the same # for the 1st and 2nd, is because that is the hunt they want, and maybe their 3rd choice falls in the BP phase. If their 3rd falls in bonus point, and their 1st. doesn't, then their 1st would not even be looked at had he of put it down as his second choice. By putting it as 3rd, it is not considered in the bonus point pass. In the rare event, their are left over tags from the 1st and 2nd pass, he still has a chance at drawing it on the 3,4,5 pass. Hopefully this makes sense.

Marc is a top notch Taxidermists. I too have an antelope @ the Taxi with the same question. I looked all over online for habitat with a wall pedestal, but I personally think they all look weird. I think I am going to go with just the pedestal and no habitat. All the habitat I have found that I liked, are all floor pedestals. Your buck is a stud, and you should definitely keep the ear tag. Goes with the story and history of the animal. I will watch this thread to get ideas for mine as well. PS. That African antelope wall pedestal is awesome!! Too bad my pronghorn wasn't from Africa, those spears and shield make that mount POP!

I would do 19a. Lots of great bucks that will be in and around 80"s. Tons of opportunity as well. Having said that, with the reduced # in tags this year, I would not say you are a lock for the 2nd hunt. More than likely, you will see a 1-2 point bonus point jump this year. 1/3 less tags than last year.

Check out the Spot hogg fast Eddie when it comes out. Should be a great sight that is lighter than the other adjustable spot hogs!

Timney is as easy as it gets on installation, and can be adjusted to your liking. Highly recommend them.

Much more guys in the field, taking much longer shots. Posting their pics on facebook, instagram and all hunting websites. I think if you add all those up, you get the answer. OTC was nice while it lasted.. 2 year tops IMO left for it. It is no coincidence that archery antelope tags in a few of the better units have dropped over the last few years as well. Longer shots and more harvest. Bow hunting is suppose to be harder, but many are proving it is not as hard as it once was. No real way to limit technology of bows, only option left is cutting tag #'s. AZGF has a tough job, and I hope they make the right decisions going forward with our game.

Spot hog's new sight that is coming out looks Awesome. A lot lighter than their previous models.

Check out the Kifaru Mountain Rambler. It is an awesome pack with a built in meat shelf, rifle carrier and quite a bit of expandability. I have a Kifaru DT3, and I am impressed with how comfortable it is, and how well it is made. Pretty Pricey, but well worth it IMO. I will be adding the Rambler to my frame for the next upcoming season.

I am opposite of most in this post. I have owned Swaro 15's 3 different times, and all 3 times I could not talk myself into using them more than my 10x swaros on a tripod. Brighter, with a much crisper picture and a larger field of view. I use my spotter every day I am out to evaluate the bucks I find. I assure you that if you can only tell it is a buck with 10x, the 15's will not help much. Having a spotter comes in handy for this. I only look thru it once I have found the buck, and some days it might be for only a minute or 2, but that is where it earns it's keep. My 2 cents.

I have no experience with the Kuiu bags, but I do run a Kifaru. IMO, I would not buy another bag to save 2 lbs, unless you are planning on going on a deep back country hunt, and have all the other superlight gear. (600$ sleeping bag, 500 tent,) I have heard from some on my buddies that run Kuiu's that the ultra's are not as well made as the icon's for what it's worth.

Money well spent. I will say that used Swarovski's and Leica's are clearer IMO than Vortex Razor's. You can usually find some used ones for 1k- 1500 for HD. Start with a used model and if you need more, then go spend the money. If you buy used, you will have already taken the hit for resale value, and likely can resell them for the same or not much less than what you have in them. Will you see exponentially more animals with swaro's vs. Vortex. The answer is no. Learning how to glass will allow you to see more animals. once you learn how to glass, finding the right optics for your eyes will allow you to glass for longer periods of time. Glassing for longer periods of time, allows you to find animals, you would not have found had you done just a 15 minute glassing session. I have owned Swaro's for over 10 years, and my eyes love them. Figure out what your eyes like, and you will be happy. Good luck

Good deal on powder for sure. Might be the 1st time in a while I have seen powder @ Bruno's under 30$.

I assume, which we all know what this could make me, that AZGF is telling the BP to not use infrared thermal imaging and tell hunters where the animals are. This is illegal and in their regs. I doubt that AZGF has a problem with border patrol telling guys where they see animals in general. On our last sheep hunt, I was encouraged by AZGF to talk to the BP in the area and get some of their knowledge about the animals in the area. I have no dog in this fight, just trying to interpret what was said already.

I have a Sig M400 Ar-15, that I love, but the trigger is terrible. I have tried all the methods of polishing, sanding and whatever else I can find online to make it better. It has gotten a little better, but not up to my standards. I am thinking of replacing it with a Timney 667. Does anyone have this trigger in their Ar? If so, what do you think of it? The timneys in my other rifles are great, so I expect this to be no different. Just figured I would get a few opinions before I drop 200$ on a new trigger.

I would bet the house that they monitor this site enough to already be looking into it...
