Different hunts, hunting situations call for different approaches. Patterning animals in AZ is not an easy task. To say hunting from a blind is easy, or takes no skill, is not a very true statement. I have taken many animals spot and stalk archery, but have also taken a few sitting water. Knowing which water they are going to hit that evening, placing your blind, or building a blind on the right side of the wind, predicting where an animal will enter the waterhole, can all be factors that can make for a successful or unsuccessful hunt. I am sure most able bodied hunters prefer the spot and stalk method, because lets face it, sitting tree stands or water can be BORING!! IMO, adapting to the hunting pressure or animal tendencies during said hunt is what makes the hunt. Takes a lot of knowledge and skill to shy away from what your normal style of hunting is, in order to be successful. There have been many great animals posted on this site that have been killed from a stand or blind. Some of the hunter put in over 10 days trying to make their hunt successful. Back east, the hunting is completely different than out west. They are really not comparable. If you go tromping thru the thick brush pockets, your odds of killing a dear are probably going to be less than 10%. It is very thick, with lots, as I call them, land mines. ( objects on the ground that will produce a bunch of noise when stepped on.) Some of my buddies from back east, put in soooooo much time scouting, it is unbelievable. Patterning a big buck is an almost impossible task, when they go nocturnal. Knowing how to catch him in the daylight is where their skill comes in. As Oneshot stated: Go back there and try it, it may not be as easy as you think.

LOL!! I try to refrain from looking thru the newest swaro's for this very reason! They truly are brilliant.

Awesome scope, I own the same model, and as stated above, this will blow most scopes out of the water in it's same price point.

Classic foot in mouth syndrome!!

I see this investment opportunity failing... Not enough repeat customers.

Poor horse has been beaten ATLEAST 3 times more than in needs to be. Didn't this horse die when the new license structure was released? First was this exact same argument, then a few people, who complain about everything, make a huge gripe over the new tags you purchase at outside vendors. Requires a plastic bag and a tie, and that is just asking waaaaaaaayyyyy to much. ADAPT!

Not positive, but pretty confident that the Hd's came out in 2011. So I would say 2010 was last year of manufacturing swarobrights.

It is not that difficult.

The Ghost will fall this year!!! We are going to figure him out for sure! Jay if you have any pointers on him, or know his habits, I'd love to hear what you have to say. We have been gathering a bunch of info on him, and are going to do our best to figure out where he disappears to.

I just picked up a 2104 ram 2500 4x4 with the new 6.4l. It has some power. So far I am pleased.

Great Bull. Awesome job filling the tag on a fantastic bull!

That ram is a great ram in MOST people's books. Some guys, looking for 180 or nothing, might not get excited but in my books, DEAD!!!

I am with Presmyk!! This method works..

Have you checked your powder scale?

LOL! That is a lot of counting.. Good job keeping count, I would have quit at 20

I used them for a season when they first came out. They flew good. My reason for not using them any longer was the blades would break off in the block target after repeated shooting. This bothered me. Another negative I had with them was their body would bend very easy. I was fairly new to archery when I shot these, so I am sure a lot has changed since then. As far as accuracy, they were like a field point out to 50.

Opening Day of Arizona’s Cowtown Long Range Shooting Club - 4-Oct
HuntHarder replied to Bill Poole's topic in Long Range Shooting
Yeah, my thoughts too. If you shoot once every month, it comes out to $46.00 every time you shoot. I know there are going to be months where the date doesn't work for me, so then the cost goes up to over $60.00 every time you shoot. Great idea, but will not work for me. -
Awesome looking bull!! Congrats. I like the wavy tops

Go with the 10's. I use my 10's around my neck and personally prefer them on a tripod vs. 15x. Lots of people have different opinions on this, but I prefer 10's. The 10x SLC HD are amazing.

Great buck!! What did that beast score?

I just read up on annealing and it appears it is pretty popular. Should I do it after every reloading or only after the brass has been shot more than twice? The finger tip method seems like it might be the way to go.
-
Nice. I have never annealed my brass. Do many of you use an annealing machine?
