Looking for guys for a couple remodels. Benson, Sierra Vista
HuntHarder replied to CatfishKev's topic in Classified Ads
You will learn that if you start a guy at higher wage, your candidate pool will become better. The guy you hire will also be more inclined to work and make you money. $10.50 an hour for construction, is a laborer. You can not expect more than a guy that will follow directions 50% of the time and may or may not show up a day or 2 every 2 weeks. I do not agree with it, but that is reality. -
Looking outside of Hoyt and Mathews for a target bow
HuntHarder replied to COA's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
They all are solid bows. Really comes down to personal preference. If your preference isn't Mathews or Bowtech you are getting left behind tho. haha Shoot to kill em not to hoyt em. In all seriousness, I just shot the flagship bows from Mathews, Bowtech and Hoyt. I rank them: 1. Bowtech Realm 2. Mathews Triax and 3rd Hoyt RX1. Just my preference, your's may be different. -
Cabela's screwed up again... (Or so it seems)
HuntHarder replied to Ohthatguy's topic in The Campfire
Yeah, that's a big mistake. It is usually the lowest of the low who argue to make them honor the incorrect price. We all know it was an honest mistake, but there will be guys who make a stink about it. -
I am sure, if it really bothers you, you can google it and try and figure it out.

Sorry man, I am far. I live in North Peoria.

Oz31p- I like that little offset bar. I have a new Micro head on the way, If I run into that issue as well, was it difficult for you to make that? I might be interested in one.

Arizona guide loses hunting rights in 47 states

This is horseshit.. So what if he lived there for 6 months, got the tag and then moved back. If this wasn't a cliff carp, I'm sure this doesn't get this far. -
They are not tougher than any other animals. They are small animals with small vitals. Thats what makes them hard to kill. To the op questions, I would craw in with an fixed blade arrow in my hand and a head light. finish off and drag him out. What did you do? I would pay good money to see you crawl into that cave with an arrow and stab that wounded pig. haha. The video would be priceless.

So, I think there should be a distinction between the two different types of situations. The caveat is there needs to be a time limit to self report. I see this option turning into a way for poachers, who know they are possibly busted, to self report and receive a lower sentence. There would have to be a bunch of qualifiers included in the law language to distinguish between the 2 minimum penalties. i.e. shoot wrong specie during a lawful hunt, exceed bag limit during a lawful hunt. In other words, do not let blatant violators have an option to self report if they get remorse or if they feel they have been busted by another hunter. The language would have to be very specific.

Both are about 27% Interesting, GoHunt disagrees. Did you pull those from TopRut or calc them yourself? Looks like hunterstrailhead puts both around 18%

I have owned both the hunting and the tactical frames. As Rossislider said, the tactical is just a little more rigid and also has a few more connection points for straps. The hunting frame is plenty strong enough for what I do and I have gone to it exclusively. As far as switching bags back and forth, the newest hunting frame makes it a lot quicker job than the previous models. I would say it takes less than 5 minutes to switch a bag over. Most of the new bags have the meat shelf capability, which is essentially taking the top of the bag off the frame and using the cinch down straps to secure the bag to the frame. The adjustability of the frame is what really sets Kifaru apart from lots of other companies. The frame can be adjusted for length of torso pretty easily and ensure most of the weight will ride on your hips and not on your shoulders.

Isn't what you want in stock in that picture? Are you trying to find it cheaper than the listed price?
-
Kifaru are great packs, but they to lack the individual pockets that some guys like. You can always add pouches onto them thru the molle system, but most of their packs only have a few compartments. I have been running the 22mag this deer season and it is my favorite pack so far from them. I also have the DT2 and the reckoning if I choose to go on longer trips more than a couple nights. You can not go wrong with a Kifaru. Stone glacier and Exo are a few other packs I'd look at if Kifaru does not fit what you are looking for.

What part of North Dakota is that? I went there this year for the first time and killed a buck on the early season near Sutton. Tank of a buck for sure. Congrats

Sad that everyone immediately just assumes it was a 100 yard shot. Every animal wounded with rifles must be 1000 yard shots too.

What is it worth?

I think you misheard whoever said we are a trophy state... AZGF has sent out surveys and the vast majority of hunters seem to want more tags which in turn, decreases the "trophy" tags. Have you seen how many tags are given out for deer in this state? I would hardly call that trophy over opportunity. I would say we have waaaayyyy more opportunity than we do trophy.

I went to Abaco a few years ago and it was a pretty good time. We chartered a boat to go deep sea fishing and that was pretty amazing too. We caught black fin tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo's. The Wahoo are amazing to eat and fight like the dickens. We actually stayed in a really nice house on the ocean. Our next door neighbor was a bone fish guide and he took one of our guys out for a day. They caught an ungodly amount, trying to remember, but im thinking it was like 15-20 bonefish on a fly rod. I know he was worn out at the end of the day. Looks like your trip was a lot of fun and makes me want to get back there.

I make sure to keep an open and honest dialogue between me and the other half. I would have no problem telling her that the other drill is better and costs the same. It might be in your best interests to sugarcoat it a little and blame Amazon for trying to dump old stock and not educating the buyer. haha. I own both brushless and motors with brushes. As a homeowner, I doubt you would ever be able to notice a difference, but why not get the most bang for your buck.

Jazz- I highly recommend you actually call Kifaru and talk to them directly. I own and have owned several of their frames and bags. All are outstanding quality. They offer different size stay options 22", 24" and 26". I have seen guys who are abnormally long in the torso get 28" stays made for them specifically. This is a big deal because it will greatly affect how heavy weight carries on the pack. If you do not have enough load lift, the weight will be on your shoulders. I own the reckoning bag and it is a pretty slick layout. I do not think you will be disappointed with your purchase. Buy once, cry once is what I would usually say, but after you buy once, you will probably end up like me and buy multiple different bags just because. haha

I made one last year on my Traeger, it was absolutely delicious. I followed a recipe on the traeger website. It is a great time of year to buy a 20 lb hunk of meat and turn half into a prime rib and the other half into thick Ribeyes.

3-15 rifle scope hunting range?
HuntHarder replied to no worries's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Quick answer is Yes. I have 6.5-20's on my long range rigs, but rarely use 20x. I usually find myself shooting 12-15x. This is plenty of magnification for most hunting situations. -
It really comes down to personal preference. When I went with aftermarket wheels, the biggest thing I had to look for was the correct offset. I can not stand a wheel that sticks too far out of the fender. When I went wider on the tire, I had to counter that with a different offset, but still have enough to clear your suspension. Good luck
