In my gun safe. Having my bow stolen would hurt more than having most of my guns taken.

7mm Rem Mag Memorial Build
HuntHarder replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I am with firstcoueswas80, those speeds are depressing. haha. I wish I could get speeds like that. Do you think it is just a fast barrel, or many other factors? Nice job on the gun. -
REWARD OFFERED- TRAIL CAM THIEF IN PIC- REWARD
HuntHarder replied to elkwalker's topic in Trail Cameras
Did you expect a different result?? Placing trail cameras on Castle hot springs road, where a tweeker like the one who stole your camera roams, is not a smart move. Did you expect any different? Put your cameras further in, and avoid this problem. I think it is terrible that he took YOUR stuff, but I would expect nothing less in todays' society. It is a tough world, protect yourself and do not leave yourself vulnerable to the scum that exists today. -
So... we have a problem of too many elk on the ranch at a cost of X amount of dollars per head. So let's reduce access and charge a higher fee for the ones that are still willing to hunt the ranch? Seems counter productive. If the amount of people willing to hunt the ranch drops, so will the amount of elk being killed each year. You would think they would want as many cow hunters in there as possible to thin the herd. Instead, there will only be a few select cow elk hunters in there and higher end bull clients. So the overall # of elk harvested on the Bo should drop pretty significantly at a cost of X amount of dollars being factored in on the bottom line. Sounds like we are gonna need some depredation hunts on the BO to keep enough feed and water for their cattle to survive.

Yotebuster- you have to agree that checkerboard land ownership is a HUGE problem. The fact is, it is checkerboard, but treated like private. How would the rancher feel, if we treated it like public land? He would be pissed and throw a fit. The tribe has a sweetheart deal going, and they are taking advanteage of it. I am all for LANDOWNER rights. I quit siding with landowners, when they only own half the land, however are able to control ALL the land. I still can not believe that we let the tribe work us over many years ago. I do not have a solution to the problem of checkerboard land, but know if the ranch wasn't so big, Game and fish would have ended hunting on it like they did in 19b in 2011. I see Lark's solution as viable and as fair as it can possibly be. Negotiations are the only way, but I highly doubt they will take place any time soon. Instead, we will continue on the same path of increased rules and fees to hunt the Bo. Some of the Outfitters, that have claim to sections of the Bo, are grinning ear to ear and probably just went and bought new pickups and rangers when the new rule structure was released.

So, If you are a resident at time of purchase, and do purchase a lifetime license, you will be in the resident draw pool. You still need to pay the non-resident fees when applying for tags, but you will not have the 10% cap like non-residents do. It is a no brainer if you plan on moving out of our state.

Gonna be a $25,000 goat after the costs of removal. Should have removed it with a 98 cent bullet. I can just see this ballooning into another "salt river horses" fiasco....

Getting rid of cameras is a step in the right direction..... ( dodges bottles from the masses) -
Problem is you used 7-up as your beverage... Change that to Coors light and you can hold the case longer.

Just depends on how much you want to spend. Whats your budget? I have 2 scopes, one is 25-56 x 82mm and is a tank to carry. My other is 13-30x50 and you do not even know you have it in the bag.

7MM Rem Mag, Powder & Die
HuntHarder replied to ctracingraptor's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I think it depends on what you are trying to achieve. You will get varied answers on this. For me, I am not into splitting the hairs on a nats butt with my bullet, so I use standard RCBS die sets and have achieved MOA or better accuracy in every rifle I have loaded for. There is a lot of things you can do to improve your reloading and make it perfect. Grab yourself a comparator set by hornady to ensure your seating depths are uniform and regular dies will work. IF you choose to get very precise, those competition dies look pretty nice. -
I use dogtra, and it has a vibrate mode instead of tone. Works well to train as azbirdhunter stated. Very rarely need to shock him any more

Which Sitka Pants to get - Ascent or Equinox?
HuntHarder replied to trphyhntr's topic in The Campfire
Subscribed... I have the ascent and 90% in sitka but have considered trying the equinox. The Ascents are very thin, and probably my favorite pant overall. When I was down south hunting in the thicker stuff, I wore my Kuiu Teton's because they are a little thicker than the sitka. They held up really well and for the money are tough to beat. -
Nice Going Whitey, that is a great deer! Your buddy's deer is pretty nice too. Pretty amazing that you got it to go down like that. Like you said probably 1 and 100, if not higher. I could see if your buddy shot his deer first, and then you shot the deer running away with the rifle, but the other way around is pretty incredible.

I use the 12"-25 swivel Harris. Like others, I can not justify the cost on the Atlas.
