Joe, He has a TC Encore 50cal. with a 2x7 Leupold Rifleman scope. Shoots .348 Powerbelt Aerotips with 2 50 gr. Pyrodex pellets. At the range we can get 1 1/2 inch groups with 3 shots at 100 yards just about 4 inches high. Hits right on at 150. I tried the .338 Platinums but couldn't get better than 6 inch groups at 50 or 100 yards. We tried 80, 90, and 100 grains of Pyrodex and 100 gave us the best groups without moving the bullet so fast that it broke apart on impact. --Bill

My son drew a youth muzzle loader elk tag for 17, I hope to be able to post some pictures and hunt story after this weekend. How is everyones seasons going so far this year? I didn't draw anything except a late November coues tag for 36b in AZ. I'm hoping to find a landowner cow tag for up here in 6c for December for freezer meat. Take care, --Bill

Little Bill shot his first bull this past weekend, a 4x4 at 152 yards with his muzzleloader. I'll post some pics with the hunt story after I resize them. How did you son's hunt go fatfootdoc? --Bill

If that cat is 250... the man holding it up must be 350. --Bill

Great story, sounds like a fun hunt. That is an awesome bull. Congrats Ian. --Bill

fatfootdoc, Are you guys going to be hunting in 17? Since my son is away at school, I get to pack all the gear so I can just pick him up at school Friday and head down to Magdalena. He's pretty excited about Saturday morning. Jason, I believe that we can work up a story, just hope he can connect. --Bill

Well perhaps it was someone from this site. From my experience here most folks would be glad to help without any further kudos. Just a bunch of good guys and gals. --Bill

Baby steps. . . alright. I'll be glad to send you. . . oh heck, I'll drive down there with a small set of simmons, auto focus of course. To be your little "bino patch" or you could chew on them like nicorette. Just looking out for you. --Bill

Alright I've been thinking about getting 15x56's for some time now, and I got to thinking. Why don't I just help out some poor guy trying to get out of hunting. Just thinking about how much money I could save someone on gas, by offering to take their problem causing 15's almost makes me shed a tear. So if anybody wants to save a bunch of money that they might otherwise spend on hunting, I will gladly step up to help you by offering to provide room and board for your Swarovski 15x56's, no charge at all don't worry about a thing. But this generosity can only go so far, someone else will have to care for your guns, I can only take on so much. You don't have to thank me, just trying to help out. --Bill

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find them for $1,600.00? Was it a store, or personal sale? Thanks, --Bill
-
Sorry can't help you too much in that part of the state. At one time there was wording in the proclamation that Non-resident could kill all the 'yotes they wanted to with any current Non-resident license. But if you wanted to keep the hides you had to have the Non-Resident furbearers license ($345.00). Not sure about possession now probably worth a call to the G&F. --Bill

Anybody have good or bad experience with Kolpin gunboots? What model do you guys prefer, I was thinking about mounting one to my Polaris Sportsman. Thanks, --Bill
-
I was thinking about just using my hard case as an alternative. I do like the idea of being able to transport the gun sandwiched between the foam. I suppose I could use the couple hundred bucks I save on fuel. Thanks, --Bill

Nice looking pup, I don't know about getting a hound causing a divorce. My wife told me we were getting this one, who am I to argue I was worried about the consequences of not bringing him home. "Special Ed" at 4 months lounging. I prefer curs, but she wanted something that sounded pretty. --Bill

Gamehauler, With an avatar like that, "Dances with Coues" would be fitting. --Bill Surely wouldn't want "Dances with Carp". -
