Freedom lost again
dustin25 replied to muleskinner's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sjvcon I hear what you're saying, and tho I don't agree with some of it I respect and see your point of view.back on topic, I don't think its right to refuse service for any of these reasons, but I don't think it should be a law to be forced to.if people want to discriminate it always comes full circle to bite em one way or another -

The bible also preaches againd gluttony and sloth... So should we make it illegal for overweight or lazy people to get married? Should we outlaw interracial marriages because theyre different and should marry their own 'kind'? The god I know isn't a god of hate.fact is the gay movement is already looked at like the civil rights movement, but just like back then the ignorant can't or won't see it. Bottom line is that just like you don't want it in your face and follow your beliefs, so do they.and they have every bit as much right to that as you or anybody else. My god is about love, not just procreation. -

Just like the whole civil rights movement that was so controversial is now looked back on as a great thing, 30 years from now we will look back and ask ourselves how we were so ignorant about treating gays fairly. About refusing these simple freedoms to good people. Bigotry against a race is no more ignorant than bigotry against orientation.and by the way I'm a straight guy for the record.the injustice is just sickening. -

Being respectful and friendly to people with different beliefs than you dosent mean you are going against your religion.it means that you're being a decent person.having faith in you're beliefs is a great thing, but condemning and having hatred simply because someone has different beliefs is poison.Nearly all religions (as well as common human decency)preach the former and strongly discourage the latter. But unfortunately they get confused as being the same thing, which they are absolutely not. -

Sjvcon I agree 100 percent except that calling gay marriage marriage is perfectly OK with me.but great statement man.and I see bigotry as all one and the same, whether it be about race, religion, orientation, 'social status' etc.nobody is better then anyone else, and none of those things have any bearing on the strength of someones character, however judging someone solely on any of those things reveals the character of the judge. -
I have yet to shoot any animal with a core lokt and have to shoot it again.that's all the evidence I need to love em

Taliban leaders released from Gitmo

But how can we expect to get things right long term if we disregard our beliefs now.we have to keep trying even if it seems in vain sometimes or those values will be lost for good. -

I don't see anybody doing anything inappropriate on this subject...from what I've read there are obviously differing opinions but its all about the topic. A little debate is a good thing.I personally see where people are coming from and whether I agree or not dosent mean anything. I dont have all the right answers and neither does anyone else on here.if you think you do you are a fool or you are god.But because there are different view points dosent mean anyone's a 'troll' -

That's quite a leap assuming that that's my opinion on that subject! Not even close, and there was zero reason for you to assume that was my opinion. I believe in due process, and that's my whole point.period. -

I'm not labeling anyone.just don't watch a 20 second news clip and think you know exactly what happened.let the due process that our country believes in and relies on take it's course instead of condemning the guy with no info.maybe he's a traitor maybe not. I don't have the answer because I don't know for a fact what really happened.and neither do you.or were you there -

That's a lot of ignorant accusations for something you don't know 'rats butt' about. Key word is 'alleged' traitor. Dont all you self proclaimed super patriots believe in innocent until proven guilty? And you write this guy off knowing at most 10% of the real story? And to throw his family into the mix is just plain subhuman. -

Yeah coach I hope we get em too! And 43f, we don't know if this guys a deserter or a soldier who couldn't handle the stresses of combat and did something irrational. The latter happens every day with current or former soldiers... Regardless his life is worth the price paid to get him back -

dustin25 replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
We owe it to our soldiers to bring them home at any cost.if releasing 5 Taliban is all we could figure out to get our guy back, so be it.its not ideal, but if it was any of our family members being held hostage NOBODY would have a single complaint about how they got him back. -
Hey I'm not complaining about road hunters...the lazier people get, the more area left for us more remote hunters.who wouldn't rather hunt where theres no sign of people as far as the eye can see?that's half the point of goin hunting for me. Just my preference, and that's why its strange to me
-
I saw the same group of 'hunters' a few different days last year parked on the side of a popular mountain highway, in a parking lot, in camping chairs WITH UMBRELLAS, glassing OVER the highway.and one was inflip flops. To me, thats as strange and sad as 'hunting' gets

If I was you I'd save a little bit more and get some vipers.upgrade over the talons all around in every aspect. But I do think the talons are good for the price.

I like the guy who tries to sneak up and grab that big pig by its head....brilliant!

In my bra....?anyways, nice pictures Patrick that's a heckuva buck
-
85 for the one in the video? Looks much bigger from what I see.even if its narrow that a hundred inch buck plus all day long.
-
I mean, could that be a possible partial answer to what they're doing?

I agree its strange for some of those agencies to need those kind of firearms...but I could see some agencies benefitting.for example the forest service or weather and geographical surveyors could work in areas with common threats (possibly remote meth labs, pot grows, smuggling corridors etc) and should be able to adequately protect themselves.I'm not sure what some of those agencies do exactly, but some MAY have a good reason for better arms.

I'm my opinion, the razors are definitely not worth twice the price of the vipers.the razors are a little better to the edges and a tad brighter, but if someone's not proficient at finding game with glass of the vipers quality I think its much more a matter of skill level and technique then a problem with bino quality.
