Hard hunt but a ton of fun. Was able to get on bulls most days chasing bugles and sitting trails. Had a great bull at 30 yrds opening afternoon but as I was settling my pin on his shoulder I realized his left main was broke off just past his g2 so being the opener I let him walk. Never pulled back again till late Friday. While chasing bugles found this old guy in a pond wallowing around. All I could see was his tips over the bank. He stepped out and stood broadside at 65 yrds. Was not sure if I even hit. Waited and hr before looking for my arrow and blood, Could not find either. Was starting to get worried and it was dark by now. Walked over the hill to take one look in the direction he headed and just before I was about to quit for the night to return in the morning the flashlight found him pilled up on the other side of the canyon. Double lung with the arrow buried . Not my biggest but love the character

This guy showed up the other day on a camera. I'm not much of a bear judge but this guy looks huge to me. What do you think? What kind of wieght are we looking at?

Haha ohthatguy, you are funny. Hopefully these are not the last pictures of this guy. I'll head back in three weeks or so.

Sit tight. You have another month to wait

I was lucky enough to draw a September archery bull tag this year so I'm looking to purchase a new bow. The impulse has a ton of positive reviews but I would like to hear from the shooters and hunters here in Arizona from cwt, not just the east coasters. Of course I'm considering Hoyt's defiant 34, pse's decree hd and will shoot all before I purchase. So if anyone has any hands on input on the elite impulse it would be appreciated.

Well I made the jump. Headed to timber Mesa archery and met up with junior. Great guy very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. After pulling a handful of bows back and choosing to shot two I ordered the elite impulse 34. The dead stop wall and the crazy valley sold it for me.

Thanks guys for the comments and the photos. Usually when someone asks about a bow, rifle, optic brand or make there is a mix of pros and cons but the elite seem to have held up to the shootable reputation. Super excited to head up to Phoenix and test drive this bows next week.
-
I'll second that. No moving parts and dummy proof.

Thanks for all the information. Sounds like the elite reviews are spot on and everyone truly enjoys shooting the impulse. I did not know about elite having an excellent warranty so that will play in as well. Differently a top contender.

My wife Drew the same hunt. It's her first elk tag Super excited for her. Going to be a busy year scouting for her and myself with a sep archery bull tag. Not that I'm complaining. Good luck to everyone

Have the 20x60x85 hd razor angled in excellent condition. No matter how much I use it I can't get use to an angled spotter. Wanted to see if anyone was interested in a trade for like condition straight model.
-
Not that I need remind any of you. But good luck, shoot straight and above all enjoy the hunt. Who knows when you'll have the opportunity to chase those beautiful animals again.

Thanks bonecollector. Just for clarification the g&f is required to give out 10% of the all tags in each hunt to NR.
-
Does it make a difference if the non-res is applicant A or B/C/D for the set 10% tags to non-res. I put my brother (non-res) in with myself for archery elk figured to get on the 10% but put him as applicant B

12-40X60mm HD. Has been in the protective case since I purchased (except to take these photos). Has also been used on several hunts and gone countless miles in the backpack but still in mint condition. I can not find a scratch on the glass or the body to speak of. The eyecup extender is starting to crack at the creases (I think would be a replaceable part from Leupold), Great scope for the backpacker: Small and lightweight. $800.00
