I have a bull tag in units 3a/3c this year and am debating on trying the Phat Head S.O.B 100 grain because of the amazing toughness of the Phat head blades and the extra cutting capacity. I wouldn't normally consider going with a mechanical for bull elk but this one seems to be as "fail safe" as they come and I am hoping the blades will fly like my field points. I was impressed by the youtube video in which they shot several mechanicals through metal barrels and most of the mechanical blew up or were severely damaged. I know the key is sharpness and placement and flight on each individual setup. I will be using an Elite Energy 35 set at 70 lbs and want something that is capable at longer ranges if needed. Only downside to these broadheads is price at $45 for 3!! But how often do you get a bull tag? Has anyone used this broadhead?

That's one ATV I've never had the opportunit to test. The one I owned I liked the least was the Can Am Commander 1000xt Polaris ranger 700 and 800 I liked a lot and seem more reliable than 900. Best for serious off roading and easily the funniest to drive was the razor 4 800. I was amazed how well it climbs and how mych better than ranger but ranger had big edge in carrying capacity. How is artic cat for climbing and what is top end speed? Does it have a "locker" button like the ranger?

Unbelievably lucky to draw a unit 3A/3C archery bull tag (or any tag). I know the feeling of emptiness and depression that comes when you realize you didn't draw a tag and "feel" for the many who are as passionate as I am and didn't draw a tag(again). I will be going SOLO on the 3A and 3C hunt and may be looking for someone to connect up with during the hunt. I prefer hunting alone but would be nice to know someone in the area or camp nearby as I may be going back and forth to Tucson during the hunt at least once. I will be doing a lot of scouting the area this summer --driving roads, hiking, checking tanks, setting up trail cams, etc. etc. I have only hunted this area during the juniors hunt last year and have a pretty good idea of where I want to start. I have not looked at the 3a area only the 3c. I might try to get up in the area in the next two weeks to look for sheds, check some roads, etc.. Looking for another serious hunter--Maybe do some scouting together--touch base during the hunt--Not looking for a guiding service..PM me if you would like to discuss. I am in Tucson/Vail area.
