Oh goody. And I got my muzzleloader all dialed in up to 300 yds... hopefully shoot one at 15, lol
-
I would’ve done the same. Congrats to her.

Great video, really enjoyed it. One question though, was your wife hoping to shoot one with a bow instead? She did great either way, that’s how to get it done. I also like how you started in the beginning of the draw results, I know it’s like Christmas at my house..........sometimes....lol

I like the camo one too. Second place the tan.

Was talking to a buddy yesterday and I asked him how many bonus points he had for deer. He shocked me when he told me only 2, I knew he had been putting in for years and figured he should at least have 9-10 by now. He said the AZGFD took his bonus points when he shot a mule deer 3 years ago with an over the counter archery tag. This dont seem right??? Am I wrong? On an over the counter tag they cant take his points if he fills it can they? I told him if I were him Id be making some phone calls pronto...he kinda shrugged it off as if he didnt care. What do you say? In the end though he did kill a nice muley.

I have no idea. I dont believe hes lying but Im wondering if maybe he got his portal mixed up and cant see what he really has?

Ive also had to put out some unattended fires. Cant believe people can be so stupid after all the warnings and stuff. I know Ive done it on at least 3 occasions and Im a non-resident. Pretty sad.

Muzzy sabot question
Titanium700 replied to Brooktrout26's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
This ⬆⬆⬆⬆Its what Im using for elk this year. Even got an email from Barnes and the below is their response to my question 250 vs 300 grain expander Thomas, Congrats on drawing that tag. That is awesome! Our 250 gr Expander MZ bullet would be a great choice for that hunt. With 2100 fps at the muzzle that bullet will expand out to 375 yds @ sea level. At 7000 feet elevation you could shoot an Elk out to about 550 yds and still get reliable expansion! The 250 gr is going to give you plenty of penetration plus a higher velocity for greater hydrostatic shock and a larger wound cavity. The minimum impact velocity for reliable expansion with the 250 gr Expander MZ is 1050 fps. The 50 cal 300 gr Expander MZ is 1000 fps. The rest of our muzzle loader bullets are 1100 fps. Performance wise they are pretty close to one another. -
Good question. I wonder too.

Wow. Hes wild looking.

Lol. Thats what we thought.

I have a funny one. Will look for it tonight. Think you will get a kick out of it.
-
Might be... We usually get a lot of guide advertising when we get a tag, this year nothing...
-
Nope, would not be fair for everybody. Since you dont blow points why should you gain one?

About 15 yrs ago my bro in law and friend were sighting in their slug guns the day before season, were shooting at 100 yds at a target attached to a 4x8 sheet of plywood when a small buck walked directly in front of the target nonchalantly, we all had a good laugh out of that one. If it was one day later someone surely wouldve shot him.

Yup. Same here, though I think by then my pops was eyeballing my mom.

What rifle caliber is most common for coues deer hunting in AZ?
Titanium700 replied to THREEDFLYER's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
My personal coues rifle is a .243 AI though in fairness I have never drew a coues tag yet. It is ready for when that happens though. My son uses a plain vanilla .243 and has killed to 400 with it. Personally I dont see the need for a magnum that has a case the size of a coke bottle to kill them far off. Any one of the standard case cartridges can do the same with practice and the proper bullets.
