Idiot with a Mini-14
Titanium700 replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Mini 14's aren't accurate enough to notice if they are shot out or not. Get the bolt fixed and let her rip. -
Nah 6.5x378 Weatherby.

Don't laugh about the .264 WM AI I have actually seen 2 of em at a gun show once.
-
Even if you got the plain Jane 6.5/06 you will be happy with it. Just use an 8 twist whatever you do. I'm a .264 WM guy myself.....shoot any 6.5 trips my trigger.

You can order a cds without the zero stop too.
-
Yes. I prefer the M1 but you can use the cds dial exactly like the M1 too. Many people don't realize that. It's just lower profile. Or load up a certain bullet certain velocity certain certain blah blah blah and get the custom cds dial. For the record I like cds dials too.

Downsides? None that I can think of. Run an 8 twist barrel and do it in a Ackley (6.5/06 AI) Have it throated for those 140 grainers and your golden.

Got one in a .243 AI 22" long in an 8 twist and that crazy thing shoots everything I feed it. Right now my favorite bullet is 105 grain Amaxs touching holes at 200

New rifle caliber choice? You tell me!

264 Win Mag with an 8 twist. -
Yep. Bump the shoulder back a bit

Also lance you forgot carpet.....oh wait. That's my father in laws list. He likes (got me hooked on it too to be honest) carpet for a tent floor for our Alaknak tents. Actually it's pretty plush...lol

Crockpot on low overnight with potatoes cut in half, carrots. Slivered onions, garlic cloves and for liquid mushroom soup....enough to cover the roast.

Proven SA caliber for coues
Titanium700 replied to Stickflinger76's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I guess I'll join in on the .308 based cartridges. If I were doing a strictly coues bomber my first choice would be a .260 AI with a 8 twist barrel My second choice and it's a close one would be a .243 AI with an 8 twist as well. Either would make me happy. I'd scope either one with a 3.5x10 Leupold with an M1 turret. -
I agree with the above, not hunters but poachers, I'll even go one step further and suggest murderers?

Saw a picture one time with a monster whitetail buck (probably 200") and in the background you can see the arch from St. Louis. Photo was taken in Illinois, right across the river from St. Louis.

IS IT VORTEX OROTHER SCOPE BRANDS AS WELL
Titanium700 replied to murfys69law's topic in Long Range Shooting
I use Leupolds, what I usually do is rotate the turret a few clicks (maybe 1-2?) past my desired MOA and and return to it. Hope that makes sense. -

That's how I love to eat my tenderloin and backstraps, with baked sweet potatoes I grow in my back yard. Only I include grilled asparagus. Oh my I'm going out tomorrow to kill a deer and have some fresh...thanks. -
That's one thing I like about my cams, they require a passcode to use them. Not to mention mine are locked in a lockbox too.

Yes it works awesome.
