Ha ha, no actually height don't bother me and this tree was pretty much the same diameter all the way up to where I climbed. I remember very little wind that day so no tree movement either. The reason I remember so much about that day was it was the first hunt allowed on a state park deer reduction...I was drawn like many others and that morning as the sun was coming up I had a monster buck walk down hill about 125 yds from me...I couldn't find him in the scope to shoot him. I was using a pistol. :-(

you gonna pay tithes on that brother?*grin*

yes 55 ft.i was on the side of a steep hill, below me was a heavily used trail and on the top was another....in order for me to watch both and not get busted was to climb a tree in the middle, about dead center, that put me about 25 ft above the top trail.

What magazine you using? Gonna have enough room in it for your bullet of choice to be seated out that far. Btw, that's the way I do it....push that bullet out there for more powder capacity.

Not all us guys out east think your nuts. I like to be mobile, out here I use my summit alot, I can get up into my position and back down pretty quickly, if the wind changes so do I. another thing I let tree canopy/brush/limbs/terrain etc dictate how high I climb and set up, with that ive been as low as 8 feet to as high as 55 feet, my average is 25-30 feet. I also like to use ladder stands, in these to me the higher the better, ive got a buddy stand for my son to hunt with me and we had a great time in it the last 2 years.

Ive found in general that prices have gone up, but what I like to do is hang around the front entrance waiting for the people to enter. they are the ones who are usually wanting to sell something to purchase something else inside. they are also the ones I usually get good deals from.

Actually it's 1-9 1/8" And....some guns will stabalize it others will not. = the A-max that is...I doubt the Bergers will. I think it has a lot to do with altitude/velocity among many other things.

I like the TMR for quick fine tune adjustments with the wind calls but will initially start by twisting my M1 turrets.

I'm telling ya.....if you only hit one lung he is not dead. They can live on that shot....seen it to many times.
-
Probably shot through his shoulder and got 1 lung...with you bumped him the second time he vamoosed. Chances he's still alive but now lives somewhere else.

Wanting to replace my Ar trigger

I like my Jard single stage, breaks at 1 1/2 lbs. -
Bigorange, I totally understand what your saying about not pressuring the kid, that's smart of you. Starting out my son was totally scared of recoil....even a .22 rimfire, one day I had him sitting on my lap and was trying to get him to pull the trigger but he wouldn't.....I couldn't take it anymore so I reached up and quickly slapped the trigger. He was shocked but replied that wasn't so bad, after that I couldn't pull him from the gun. Now only 3 yrs later he has shot my 12 gauge supermagnum on turkeys....but that's another story because that shotgun totally bowled him over. He laughed about that. Anyway, what I'm saying is I slowly introduced him into guns and he loves them. He now has his own .243 a .357 maximum contender rifle and is hoping to get a 20 gauge shotgun of his own. Good luck, I'm sure he will take to it.

Your son doesn't want to hunt????? Oh my!!!! My son is frothing at the mouth already for next year and keeps yapping about it...can't shut him up. Course that's not a bad thing, I'm the same way. Lol If your son does draw an "impossible to draw" tag all I can say is "Dad!!!!!!, when we hunting?" Lol

I put in with my business card, there's always money in there.
-
Not in spam folder either, but fortunately I was smart enough to print off the receipt as well. also the app fees have been drawn from my card too so I guess I really have nothing to worry about. I hope.
