Thats true, but i do have to say..once in awhile you really happen upon a good deal. like recently for me, my cabelas had a brand new used 1 time 12x20 Alaknak tent in our bargain cave for $649.99 I chatted with the store employee for a little bit about it and he said he would knock 25% off that price. of course i snagged it.....got it home set it up and my my, it was brand new though missing a few stakes, no problem though they are cheap enough.

2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll
Titanium700 replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Ive never killed a coues deer. (I know....I know) But my son has, hes got 2 so far, first buck he shot at 401 second buck 70. neither buck we could get closer to. i have no problem with people taking long distance shots, but before they do they must practice at those distances not just shoot and hope to hit their target....the same could be saide for short range too. -
That is amazing.

One of those model 7's that are .378" boltface just screams 6×45 to me. -

Assuming a .473" bolt face I'd do a .260 AI with a 21" fluted 8 twist Lilja on a remington LVSF dupe. It would be throated for 130 grain bergers. The stock would be a mcmillan new remington hunter swirled blue/med grey/white 50/30/20 ratio. Also it would wear leupold dual dovetail rings/bases and have a leupold mark 4 LR 3.5-10x40 scope with the tmr reticle. Now.....I probably wouldn't build on that particular dogleg action but a standard 700 I would. Oh and the action and barrel would be a bead blasted stainless steel. -
Ha ha, no actually height don't bother me and this tree was pretty much the same diameter all the way up to where I climbed. I remember very little wind that day so no tree movement either. The reason I remember so much about that day was it was the first hunt allowed on a state park deer reduction...I was drawn like many others and that morning as the sun was coming up I had a monster buck walk down hill about 125 yds from me...I couldn't find him in the scope to shoot him. I was using a pistol. :-(

you gonna pay tithes on that brother?*grin*

yes 55 ft.i was on the side of a steep hill, below me was a heavily used trail and on the top was another....in order for me to watch both and not get busted was to climb a tree in the middle, about dead center, that put me about 25 ft above the top trail.

What magazine you using? Gonna have enough room in it for your bullet of choice to be seated out that far. Btw, that's the way I do it....push that bullet out there for more powder capacity.

Not all us guys out east think your nuts. I like to be mobile, out here I use my summit alot, I can get up into my position and back down pretty quickly, if the wind changes so do I. another thing I let tree canopy/brush/limbs/terrain etc dictate how high I climb and set up, with that ive been as low as 8 feet to as high as 55 feet, my average is 25-30 feet. I also like to use ladder stands, in these to me the higher the better, ive got a buddy stand for my son to hunt with me and we had a great time in it the last 2 years.

Ive found in general that prices have gone up, but what I like to do is hang around the front entrance waiting for the people to enter. they are the ones who are usually wanting to sell something to purchase something else inside. they are also the ones I usually get good deals from.

I see's a snake, I kills a snake......period!

Actually it's 1-9 1/8" And....some guns will stabalize it others will not. = the A-max that is...I doubt the Bergers will. I think it has a lot to do with altitude/velocity among many other things.

Timney for Rem 700 cheap? How much is cheap? I might be in the market if it has a safety and depending on model.

I like the TMR for quick fine tune adjustments with the wind calls but will initially start by twisting my M1 turrets.
