    "Impossible" hunts to draw

Bigorange, I totally understand what your saying about not pressuring the kid, that's smart of you. Starting out my son was totally scared of recoil....even a .22 rimfire, one day I had him sitting on my lap and was trying to get him to pull the trigger but he wouldn't.....I couldn't take it anymore so I reached up and quickly slapped the trigger. He was shocked but replied that wasn't so bad, after that I couldn't pull him from the gun. Now only 3 yrs later he has shot my 12 gauge supermagnum on turkeys....but that's another story because that shotgun totally bowled him over. He laughed about that. Anyway, what I'm saying is I slowly introduced him into guns and he loves them. He now has his own .243 a .357 maximum contender rifle and is hoping to get a 20 gauge shotgun of his own. Good luck, I'm sure he will take to it.

    "Impossible" hunts to draw

Your son doesn't want to hunt????? Oh my!!!! My son is frothing at the mouth already for next year and keeps yapping about it...can't shut him up. Course that's not a bad thing, I'm the same way. Lol If your son does draw an "impossible to draw" tag all I can say is "Dad!!!!!!, when we hunting?" Lol

online elk and antelope is now up!

Not in spam folder either, but fortunately I was smart enough to print off the receipt as well. also the app fees have been drawn from my card too so I guess I really have nothing to worry about. I hope.

    .223 rem for coues

I'd have no issues, I took down an eastern whitetail with one shooting the barnes 53 grain tsx.
  16. Just back into town from a great hunt where my son was able to connect on a beautiful 97" gross score coues buck. This is his second coues ever the first being a spike. Last Saturday we were watching a hillside where we had seen 4 shooter bucks previously when this boy steps out at 70 yds, my son took the shot with his .243 shooting 80 grain TTSX's and the buck took off, we found him about 100 yds later down a steep hillside. My son is 11 yrs old and already has more deer under his belt than I ever had at 18. Lol

11 yr old chases the 100" mark.

I didn't draw a tag this year, course I try for the strip tag but maybe next year I will try for a leftover tag because I need a coues too. But that will be a tough one to beat. Lol

Ok, why are my first two pics sideways?
  21. I'm in 29 as we speak, posting from my camp. I know of an area that holds 4 shooter bucks right now, my son took one of the other shooters yesterday morning. I'm not telling where they are either because we have 2 other hunters in camp and they are hoping to put their tags on any one of the others. In this unit you need to scout!!! And the funny thing is most of the hunters we have seen from camp are road hunters....ha ha ha good luck with that. Next week I'll post some pics of my sons buck probably go between 80-90"
  22. Went out for about an hour last night and spotted up a fork horn pretty close to saddlebrook.

    AZ Unit 33 Late

33 is an awesome unit IF you get away from the roads but back in 99 I shot and lost a monster coues up by oracle. He was a bonafied 130" 5x5, I was using those stupid Puckett bloodtrailer broadheads...my arrow blew through him and was laying on the ground where he was standing........with the remains of a broadhead on it. We were able to track him for about 500 yds until he found some snow and you could tell he was eating it, after that his blood stopped and we lost him, went back for several days afterward and could not locate the carcass. I still get sick thinking about it it was a 25 yd broadside shot and he stumbled and fell many times before he went out of sight.
