SirRoyal this isn't a pissing match. Ive killed a lot of big animals and I'm sure you are a good hunter as well. I've seen some of your pics and I know we both know what we are doing when it comes to finding big animals. We can agree to disagree on who is the main culprit. I've met good guides and some real bad ones. It's just unfortunate it's coming to this where the average Joe can't run a camera or two anymore in a mediocre unit where it isn't affecting anyone. Thats the real issue I see here.

I'm against the ban and I don't see the g&f's supposed fair chase issue or hindering wildlife issue. But the G&F has this rule in their sights and is going to pass this. Everyone should be able to run as many cameras as they want, it's just the guides that are running 100X more than the average hunter or even hardcore hunter, drawing the attention and driving the complaints to the G&F. G&F is sick of dealing with it and is going to ban them completely. Thats my thoughts anyway.

So as long as we are courteous and don't check cams early in the day we can put as many cams out as we want and it makes no difference? This is exactly why they are going to pass the camera ban. Guides have no clue that they are ruining it for the rest of us.

Sounds like they are tired of ranchers complaining. All I heard was: I'm tired of dealing with this, blah blah blah, we just voted on this, blah blah blah. Okk ignore the two speakers, lets proceed with the ban.

They motioned to ban all cameras. Means they are starting the process. Obviously they don't care about public input. All 5 Comissioners voted to proceed. Complete garbage if you ask me

Wouldn't surprise me if they did something like that. Im sure some would have fun removing stickers off cams, or the weather would. They probably would make people pay to get their cams back with a fine.

How does making a camera season eliminate the supposed fair chase issue? Legitimate question. They would have to create a camera season for every species. They would all overlap and cause a huge mess. It seems everyone just thinks about deer and elk but a camera season has an effect on all other animals we catch on cameras.

Sorry if I offended your profession. Do you think the majority of the people running hundreds of cams are guides or non guides? Insta posts of hundreds of cams are not helping. How many non guides are running this many cams? I think we can agree guides are the worst offenders.

I've had the Arlo, and Costco brand systems. Now I have Reolink. Much better for the price. Id suggest hard wiring the system, it's the best system long term. 24/7 recording even if the internet goes out. I'm recording at 1440P which is excellent clarity. From their decision it seems the majority wanted no more regulation. If I remember right there was only one person who spoke for regulation in the meeting. If they honestly think people checking cameras keep game from getting water they would ban sitting water on a hunt as well. The whole state would follow the Boquillas rules.

Leave the cameras alone. The public spoke last time, why are they not listening?

Anyone headed out for the hunt tomorrow? I've spent a good amount of time in 33 and we rarely see javelina. Thinking about checking lower elevations.
