Hopefully the rain keeps coming. The tag numbers going down will help also.
-
Not what it was 10 years ago that's for sure. We used to see 380+ bulls on the archery hunt every time we had a tag. Good luck with that now.
-
Too many whatever it is. Unit 1 has gone downhill hard.
-
You should be fine. It's going crazy right now.
-
I defer to what you said earlier:
-
I dunno, check the regs. Use the hunt number lol.
-
I never said you can't say thanksgiving hunt. That would be a lot better than saying I have the 5th season Coues hunt.
-
Lol, you would

pics?
-
We don't all follow made up lingo. I'd rather stick to the regs.
-
Any luck?

I worry about regs and hunts year round. It's an obsession... Waiting on deer recommendations but I think we have a few months.

All I'm saying is calling it the first season, second season, third season is making things confusing for a lot of people. It would be easier to use the dates or hunt numbers or call it by early oct, late oct, early nov etc. Youth hunts, archery hunts, mule deer hunts all make it confusing. If someone says I have the first hunt in unit 33, I'm not sure if they mean the august archery hunt, the Early October youth hunt or the Early Oct Rifle hunt. If you are running a paid service to provide draw statistics, at least accurately say which hunt it is instead of calling it the 4th season 33 Coues hunt.

The problem is there is now two hunts in October in some units, 3 November hunts(one that overlaps Nov and Dec), 2 December hunts, etc. Do the youth hunts apply? What about the muzzleloader hunts? Does the Aug-Sept hunt count as the 1st season? Is late season technically January archery? It's a giant mess. Call the hunts what they are. This isn't Colorado.

According to who? The Game and Fish doesn't see it that way. Anyone who makes up their own naming system should be wearing a helmet.
-
It's chronological by week of the year. The game and fish uses the week of the year to set the hunts. There is no designation for first season, second season, third season in Arizona. Using a numbered season naming system in a state that doesn't use that system is causing confusion. These sites should to use the hunt numbers, hunt dates or at least call them the late oct hunt, early nov hunt, late nov hunt etc.
-
Where does it say first season, second season, third season etc in either the regs or a calendar? I see none of that written in either.
-
The Regs say nothing about first season, seconds season, etc. I can't stand odds sites that use these designations. Lots of units have lots of different hunts. There is no standard hunts, look at 33. Now there is two general Oct Hunts, 3 General Nov hunts, 2 rifle youth hunts. Go Hunt does the same thing. Makes me wonder if they actually read the regs.

I thought it was some sort of witchcraft thing. Who knows

Anyone know the family washed away in Tonto Basin?

Any update Flatlander? -
21 is not the unit to hunt without scouting. The elk population is very low, roads are rough. You have your homework cut out for you considering you have 8 days left.

I looked at Desert Jewel Pointing Labs, might check them.

The south end is blocked. I haven't tried the north end.
