Great WT Backpack Hunt
CouesFanatic replied to yumabowhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Them, refers to the noun earlier in the sentence, which is "the pictures that show exactly where you went". Learn english BRO. It means: Just don't post the pictures that show exactly where you went. I did not say don't post any pictures. What does this have to do with you anyway. Were you there? -
+1 I'm not familiar with that unit, but I agree with the overhunting statement. And its not just for elk.

Did anyone tell him to not post any pictures? No. Go read the post again. -

get a life dweeb Thanks for the wonderful comment. LOL get a life dweeb Although he should of used a PM and I wish he didn't bring up my name I still think people are overreacting to CouesFanatics suggestions. I have had special places that I considered "Mine" that I have saddly lost due to hunting pressure. So if I saw beautiful panoramic shots posted of my special place I would of PMed the hunter. Here is why, I really enjoy trying to figure out where the hunters took their animals, just from the pictures. Some of my best spots are found this way. One thing we use to do a lot on this site was "Name That Spot", from a mystery picture. Since we don't do that anymore I just try to do it from trophy pictures. Bob, P.S. Please keep posting the photography, I am running out of places to hunt. I agree, I do the same thing. You can join us in there if you would like, send me a pm. But I still don't know why anyone would post lots of pics of where they had very good success and tell everyone they saw 24 bucks opening morning. Not meaning to be rude to the OP, but its just not good practice if you want to keep a good spot for next year. Sure people are going to be in there anyways, but why not try to keep it to a minimum. Thats my thinking anyway. -

Yes he can post whatever he wants. I'm just letting him know that the pictures are very revealing to the location. It wasn't intended to be rude. -

Ive spent 16 nights there between this year and last. I'm headed back in two weeks for another 7 days. I know the area extensively. I heard you shooting opening day. Believe me, your pics are a dead giveaway. I saw your tents from up top above the cliff. Saw the two trucks parked at the trailhead. I saw your names in the book with the 3x3 whitetail written in. Did you see the grey tundra, or how about the red tacoma in there. Or maybe the lifted silverado on 40s? You can highly doubt all you want, but you better expect more people to be in there next year, you already have bobbyo knowing where this is at also. Nice having the towers in the pic, as if it isn't obvious enough. -

Good bucks, next time take some pics that don't show exactly where you went, or just don't post them. I was above you on the mountain, That storm was nasty. There's getting more and more people in there each year. -
bump. $40

You will find big bucks at all elevations this time of year. Glass and hunt hard. You will find them.

If I see one more of these posts I might just puke.

I picked up last years Coues from Clay at Mogollon Taxidermy. He does an awesome job. Glad to have this buck on the wall.

+1 for Lance. It means much more to yourself when you worked for it. Besides, spots change some from year to year.

Sweet and sour 2011 archery elk hunt in unit 1
CouesFanatic replied to huntlines's topic in Elk Hunting
Ya that will go over well. Taking pictures of every camp, I'm sure people will like that. Its just a tough situation. It sucks that this happens. It sucks that peoples honesty and integrity have gone out the window. Doing the right thing because its the right thing, seems to be nonexistant and a thing of the past for these folks. -
Sweet and sour 2011 archery elk hunt in unit 1
CouesFanatic replied to huntlines's topic in Elk Hunting
Good story. How do you know the elk were dead when the people "stole" them? I have been in the other people shoes once before. I found a bull hit too far back with no hunter to be found. Searched and searched and couldn't find anyone who had shot a bull. With a bull suffering and will soon die, what do you do? I finished him off and ended my hunt. I don't feel bad about it at all. I agree though, if it is dead then call the fish and game, or locate the hunter. I hate scumbag hunters just as much as the rest of you. I was afraid that unit would turn into problems with as many tags as are in there now. -
My dad drew a rifle antelope tag this year and we didn't want to waste it. We spent a pretty good amount of time scouting and found these bucks: We called this the ram buck: Another buck: And the big boy, this guy was a nice buck: When the hunt rolled around, the big boy was nowhere to be found so we went and put a stalk on number 2. We got 300 yards away from the does and a small buck came running 1/2 mile away towards the buck and his does. The buck ran off chasing the small buck. We snuck around a hill and the does wandered to 250 yards. We couldn't see the buck over the crest of the ridge so I stood up. Still couldn't see anything. All of a sudden I see this buck running straight at me at 80 yards. He turned and ran down the hill, giving my dad a 225 yard shot. We are pleased with the buck. He has no cuts or chips or broken tips. Just a super pretty buck and a fun time. And the trophy photo:

Is there anyone in the East Valley who has beetles? I can do the whitening myself, just looking for someone with beetles. thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. The bulls will come in and break those cows up. Theres gunna be a bull for every 8 cows or so. Those huge groups of cows will broken up into many smaller groups and will spread out. Thats my opinion anyways.
