Members in/near Chandler?
MT. CAT replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I use to live in Chandler Alma & Elliot. I now live over the canal off of Dobson & Guadalupe. I do need to get out and shoot my rifle a little more with the new scope. Only place I go is Rio Salado range. Probably 20-30 minute drive. -
Nice fish.I'm down there often on Sunday evenings with my 6yo nephew. He slaughters the bluegills, I cant seem to pull in a bass yet. What kinda lures do you have success with? From that pic we usually fish another 100 yards east.

Anyone think this will make national news? Last known jaguar in USA dies after capture. VERY VERY SAD!

I agree with coues7. There are numerous articles on the 700 trigger. Just google rem 700 trigger job. I read a dozen or so all with the same detail on how to properly and SAFELY do the job. I don't know the exact pull weight of mine, but I do know its alot less than before. It did also take alot of the creep out of the trigger, breaks real nice now. I live right by the Guns Etc in Chandler. I went there once to talk about doing some work on my Rem 700. Wow what a bunch of idiots. All they did is question every thing I wanted to do to the rifle. You figure a gun shop that advertises gunsmithing would want my business to do some gunsmithing So I went home and did it myself.

What do you all use for sharpening knifes
MT. CAT replied to IHunt2live's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I own the Gatco professional kit, and love it. It just takes time and some patients to achieve a perfect edge. Everyone should read this article before ever sharpening a knife. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showtopic=26036 I still go back and read it from time to time to keep on point. I use the magic marker trick all the time to determine correct angles of a knife I have never sharpened. I also leave a small slip of paper in my kit with all the angles I sharpen to, even if there are a buddies knife. Trust me you'll forget and have to use the marker trick again. I don't use the oil with the kit. I prefer to let the stone do the cutting and clean it once I'm finished. The only thing missing in my eyes it the ultra fine stone. I plan on getting one some day, but I'm am very particular about how my knives are and feel while cutting. One last thing buy the pedestal mount makes life easier. -
Congradulations Paul. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Paul if you remember you stopped at our camp and chatted for almost an hour with us Mike, Brett, and Rick from West Virginia. I had the dodge diesel with the pipes in the bed. You also left us with your Colorado Bowhunters magazine. Guys this man is a stud in my books. He has some wild stories and does it all on solo no help from anyone! And all with the bow. We told you we were gunna be back the next weekend but never made it. I will be going down Sat. morning to the same spot. What a sweet buck! Did you happen to get him anywhere near our area? Hopefully you didnt have to pack him to far.

I will be down there. I usually go for the late December hunt but this was my second choice. I know what the unit looks like with 100 tags I cant imagine what it looks like with this many. Figured I could get my cameras out for archery season. I will also be down this weekend for the juniors hunt. If you see the big rig stop and say hi.
