If we have learned anything in the last 2 1/2 weeks, it's that their IT dept. is completely incompetent and deadlines mean nothing at this point. They will change them if they have to. Their system is obviously so screwed up that they can't run the draw and/or process cards. Can't get results without either of those two things.

At this point, it's just sad. The incompetence of their IT dept. is ridiculous. It's one thing to screw something up, but to take 2 1/2 weeks to fix it is another. Then to top it off, they give a sorry excuse that a whopping 18k extra apps caused all this. SMH

I thought 5pm was an odd time. Made me think they would do it last night also. They better do it soon, otherwise the bitching is going to start all over again. 🤣🤣🤣

Wow, I thought this topic was dead. Obviously, since the whole draw/CC deadline issue was settled, we moved on to different things to argue about. To put a cap on this, at least for me, I was just curious what others thought when I originally posted. It is a subject that intrigues me. Also, I was trying to figure out what kind of hunts we would put in for. I am not a guy, nor is my family, one to put in for trophy hunts exclusively. I love to hunt elk, whether it be cows, bulls, rifle, bow, muzzleloader, etc. Of course, I want to kill a big bull as much as the next guy. It was different in years past, where I had many family members applying for elk. I was willing to wait and put in for early archery hunts for myself, but I got to go on hunts almost every single year for the last 20 because someone got drawn for some kind of hunt. Well now, my kids are either in school or the military, my dad has passed and my mom has decided since my dad is gone, she no longer has the desire to hunt. So each year, I pick and choose what kind of hunts I am going to apply for, knowing that I don't have many more archery bull hunts left since I am 52 now and with the way the point creep is going. The way things were shaping up this winter as I saw them, I/we decided we would just put in for "meat" hunts this year. Better odds for those of you putting in for early archery hunts!! I could be wrong and it could be a great year, but I will never regret a day chasing elk...no matter what season. I hope to see some pics of monsters from you guys in September. Good luck guys and gals.

My information has not changed, but the last couple times I have logged in, it shows that it has been updated. Friday it said it was updated on 3/5. I will add that mine, and everyone in my family, shows the current licenses, apps, correct points, etc.
-
I remember them delaying the draw, but honestly can't remember them extending the "Update CC deadline". Anyone else remember it happening? I have seen a lot of people say they "need to" or "have to", but I don't see that happening.
-
For several draws, they seemed to have figured it out...They hit CC's the morning after the deadline to update CC's, the time between hitting CC's and posting results got shorter. We got spoiled. Then, the whole portal BS happened. People freaked out, I think Game and Fish freaked out. LOL 2 steps forward, one step back. Guessing we will get hits next week. Back to the "good old days".

LMAO....the message is "Quit calling idiots, we will finish when we finish." And....the more you call, the longer we will take.

AKA..."Stop calling us you idiots, we will be done when we are done." LOL

This was posted on their website over 2 weeks ago.... IMPORTANT: AZGFD continues to validate more than 150,000 applications. As a reminder, a customer’s receipt is verification that their application was received by the department. There is no need to contact the department if a customer cannot view data (such as submitted applications, bonus points, license purchases) in their personal portal account at this time. AZGFD expects to resolve this inconvenience once the draw has been completed and hunt permit-tags are issued. In the meantime, the department appreciates the continued support and patience of its valued customers.
-
They have already said, multiple times, that the portal has nothing to do with the draw. Yet, you have all these people calling them about it.
-
What did we do before we had a portal? Didn't worry about it and just ran the draw.
-
I'm talking about someone getting impatient and calling now.
-
How long before we get the first post about someone calling GF?

I follow the Market every day. There is no proof that anything was done by the "big guys" to influence RH into restricting trading. I will admit, I thought the same thing when I saw what happened. But, from what I have seen and read, it had more to do with RH meeting regulatory requirements and protecting themselves from enormous losses. Apparently, a lot of these people that were trading GME were doing so on Margin and didn't have a care in the world if they lost money...because it wasn't theirs. RH is required to cover those $$. Also, the settlement period came into play. RH didn't have the capital reserves to cover that either. RH is a relatively small player and suffered some serious growing pains in this mess. And as far as people saying the "Big guys" didn't get hurt and manipulated the market, tell that to Melvin Capital. They took a $2 Billion hit on their short position. They announced the lost 51% in January. OUCH. There will be changes and more regulation as a result. Huntharder, I also jumped in and made 41% on AAL. Not as much as some did, but not as much as a lot of people lost either. People are getting crushed on the way down. GME went from $500 to $90.....on it's way lower. How many people lost their houses, life savings, etc. ? Be smart out there.

I'm getting older, could be my memory is just getting bad. Looked through my emails...I obviously didn't save them all but in 2014 the application was up on 1/9. Should be any day now.

It seems to be running late. Not sure why.

More to do with the angle than the broadhead. My recommendation is take nothing but a broadside to quartering away shot with a bow. People will crucify me for saying that. I know tons of animals are killed every year quartering to or frontal, but that is my rule. I killed a bull in 2013 that I watched come toward me from 100 yards. Stood in a wallow tearing it up 27 yards away, walked to me to less than 10 yards...never better than quartering to. I actually said to myself "Is this really going to happen? Is he going to be this close and I don't get a shot?" I waited and was blessed when he got nervous and jumped. Stopped quartering away at 25 yards. Dead bull. Just my personal rule. I would rather lose an opportunity than wound an animal. Crucifying commence.

I don't know anything about the rutting activity, but I did see a pic of a nice 7x8 that hit the ground. It only gets better later in September so the archery hunters get the benefit of starting a week later.
