Back in 1990, I guided a few elk hunters for an outfitter in theMadison Valley/ Lee Metcalf wilderness in Southwest Montana. There was one day when we packed out an elk on horses, and came back through there the next day. All the entrails, and legs we left behind were covered in a big pile of dirt. A Grizzly had found it overnight. There was also another guide and hunter in camp who ran into a Grizz feeding in a berry patch. The Grizz stood up and the the hunter decided to run, even when the guide told him not to. Both the guide and hunter had to climb a tree. The hunter was scared shitless, but he was a bit of a pansy anyway. All of us guides had .41, and .44 mags anyway. The Fed's up there love their Grizzlies. If you have to shoot one, you better have teeth marks on you to prove justification , or it turns into a huge ball of red tape. I would rather deal with the red tape.

Years ago, I read somewhere that Grizzlies have associated the sound of gunfire to food. Where the more aggressive bears have chased hunters off their kill to claim it as there own.? I know a guy in Montana that shot a bull elk during archery season, and a Grizzly kept harassing them from a distance. Followed them as they were packing the elk out in the dark. He said it was a hair raising experience.

Many years ago, my good friends parents had a Ranchette. They had about 6 goats. If you went into the enclosure, the Ram would wait until your back was turned, and try to head butt you in the backside. Usually it was just somewhat playful head butting. Nothing really aggressive like in the video.

With all of the scandals, cover-ups, and targeting of citizens, by some of the out of control Federal agencies, you really can't blame those of us who have a serious distrust, and lack of respect for the Fed's. I treat the FED, the same way they treat me. "Guilty until proven innocent" I also understand there are many good folks that work at the Federal level. Common folks just like all of us. These Federal employee's have to deal with the pencil pushing boneheads in Washington D.C, whom lately, always seem to make, highly questionable, and destructive decisions. As to the USFS officer......He was justified in what he did. He got a criminal off the planet, and made it home to his family at the end of the day. Regardless of how I feel about "big brother Fed", I don't like to see anything bad happen to the good guys, no matter who they work for.

Well said TJ. I hunt alone because I enjoy the solitude. My Dad and I always camped together during hunting season, but mostly went our separate ways when actually hunting. He's gone now, and camp gets a bit lonely. But I still enjoy the haunting loneliness of the outdoors. Kinda weird?

This is happening all over the Country. I read multiple stories daily, of this happening in schools and Universities around the country. Thanks to Obama, and the bat crap crazy liberal atheists, who have declared war on religious freedoms. A hunter who is religious, conservative,and a patriot, is high on the radar of the radical Left. But there is a huge upside to all of this.. We won't have to share heaven with the people responsible for the death of Christianity.
