  1. Typical political butt kissing going on. These people have no shame! Looks like the SFW cancer will be spreading to Arizona soon. Coming soon to a wildlife theater near you!

    White Mountains Fishing ?s

Tunnel, Bunch, and River Reservoir are right outside Greer. They can provide good fishing. They usually start stocking in Late April? Bunch / River Reservoir carries holdover fish, and some lunkers are caught there on occasion. I have caught some nice fish out of both.

    Lobbyists

AZSFW should know by now that the opposition to HB2072 is probably more than those that are for it(?) If they hired 2 more lobbyists to try and ramrod this deal, then they have shown that the Arizona Sportsman mean nothing to them. They must be consulting with Don Peay and SFW.

    ADA and Gilstrap

Was she there? If she was, she probably didn't want to get boo'ed out of the room.
  6. Are you sure you don't want to rub elbows with Hamberlin, and the Gilstraps around your campfire? Just make sure you hide your tag under your camp pillow, or they might try and steal it!
  7. Dang. I knew I should have gone to the Tucson branch to watch. My broadband is being slow and I can't get a good feed.

    SB 2072

With the exception of AZSFW, and it's private agenda, I understand that all of the other Wildlife orgs here in Arizona need money for continuing conservation efforts. In our troubled economy, I imagine those dollars are pretty hard to come by. Pimping our wildlife with auction and raffle tags is a very sore subject with me. I will not support anybody who stands behind HB2072 or the like. We all see it for what it is. It is a cancer that is sweeping the west, and that cancer started with people like Don Peay and SFW. A simple solution would be conservation stamps. Everyone that buys a hunting or fishing license would have to buy one at whatever price that would be set. Say $5.00. That money could go towards general conservation efforts. Maybe split between all the legit Wildlife Orgs. Take this idea one step further and every hunter that draws a tag would also have to buy a habitat stamp for the species to be hunted. Example: $5.00 for turkey/javelina $10.00 for Deer $20.00 for Elk, etc. You now have a fair amount of conservation money to go around. No lost tags. No B.S Legislation and tag pimps. Sounds pretty simple to me! Ask yourself this million dollar question. Would you all rather pay more money in habitat stamps or conservation stamps, or would you rather lose tags, and create legislation that could be extremely detrimental in the future? All of the good things that Wildlife groups may do, does not erase one giant wrong. I don't need groups like AZSFW, who are using fear mongering tactics, and backdoor politics, trying to tell me what is best for our wildlife. That is the job of AZGFD.

    Our own faults

I don't have any problems with an idea, or statement, that has merit. I do have a problem with people that seem to feel that sportsman who do not volunteer their time on wildlife projects are supposed to be the "Silent majority". If we don't volunteer, then we have no right to speak up, or "Beat the war drums". I have my own opinion on that issue. I may not be a "Super Hero" conservationist volunteer, but I have the right to speak out as loudly as I please, anytime I please. Regardless of what Wildlife Org. a person, does,or does not, belong to, all the volunteer projects in the world will not produce winter/spring rain, Eliminate predation, or mans encroachment. Volunteer work is a commendable endeavor. But it is not the cure all, end all, of the problems we face. Mother nature holds alot of the cards. A greedy and selfish society, as well as blind politics, play a crucial role in our wildlife future. i ....uhhh..... ok well , i don't think there is much else to say. my point is proven i guess. sure hope for our wildlifes sake more people don't think like this. I sincerely apologize for living in reality.

    Legal Centerfire Rifles

I have never seen any regualtions. Best to call the Game& Fish Dept. to clarify. Just curious as to why someone would want to hunt with one. .50BMG rifles can weigh upwards of 30 pounds, and has a huge muzzle brake. Its the only way to control the recoil. I couldn't imagine lugging one of those around in rough country. SOme years ago I read an article somewhere about hunters using a .50BMG to shoot elk at a 1000 yards. And then some kind of regualtion was made as to the maximum weight limit on a legal hunting rifle. I dont remember what state it was?

    Our own faults

Well said Terry. My sentiment exactly.! It is quiet apparent why AZSFW is still pushing this through. They have heard the cry of the angry sportsman, and they just don't care about our concerns. If AZSFW had any real concerns for sportsman as a whole, they would stop. But they won't. This is about money and nothing else. If passed, HB2072 will open the floodgates for future house bills that will haunt us forever.

    2072 not dead

Lies, deception, and corruption, are the cornerstones of Politics. AZSFW's tactics fit right in!

    2072 not dead

Nope. They won't go away. They have a 6 figure lobbyist on their side, who has a great deal to gain if AZSFW gets what they want. More than likely they will get their way, because they are going to fight harder than us. I am sure they have devised a new plan to super gloss Hb2072 as to what a great economical boost it will be for Arizonan's, as well as the wildlife. I'll bet the state legislators will bite...hook...line...and....sinker! Sad but true!

    CCW Permit

One of the benefits of a CCW is being able to legally carry inside a bar or restaurant that serves liqour. You just can't drink while carrying. You still cannot carry if it is posted "no firearms". There is no difference wether or not you have a CCW. Yes thats true. If they have a posted "No firearms" on the property, doesn't matter if you have a CCW or not. But you do have to have a CCW to enter any establishment that serves alcohol, if it is not posted.
  23. TJ, I hear ya! I don't allow it in my camp either. But since I pretty much hunt by myself, I don't worry about it too much. HB2072 pushed a button with alot of folks, and we end up venting our frustrations through a keyboard, and many people end up on edge about things. Especially in these difficult economic times.
