I have been kicking around the idea of purcashing a Marlin 338 MX Lever action. It shoots a 200 grain bullet with ballistics slightly less than a 30-06 shooting 180 grains. With all the high powered long range setups being so popular, I wanted to go in the opposite direction. It wil be the Marlin or a Winchester .264 Mag. Always wanted one!

Arrived back in Tucson on Saturday. Friday, as I was passing thru Las Vegas, I saw this on the Interstate. I took that as an omen not to stop in sin city. LOL

I used to hunt 37B alot during late archery season years ago. Oddly enough, the biggest Muley I have ever seen in Arizona was right in the foothills of Black Mountain. I took off my shoes to put a silent stalk on him, and I stepped right on a Cholla Pod. Ended my hunt for that day. I have never seen a live whitetail in 37B, but I did find a shed. That was approx 25 years ago. I haven't been in there in quite awhile.

Coues deer have meat on them? When it comes to a big ole mule deer, I bone em out and put it in a pack. Coues are so small I just throw it over my shoulder and carry it out.

Yes Sir. Not enough water, and too much predation. Not a good recipe for increasing wildlife numbers. A few good years of winter/spring rains would be a blessing.

I just got this email from Gilstrap at AZSFW. Have you all seen it This is just the first paragraph.... Some of our members recently expressed concern with some proposed legislation, HB 2072. However, AZSFWC did not sponsor HB 2072, nor introduce HB 2072. We did hear an overview of the bill at our December Board meeting, and the Board voted to support the concept. We viewed the benefits as presented for sportsmen and women, youth, access and wildlife, not to mention Arizona's economy, as very positive.

My best fishing has always been at San Carlos. I fish fron shore (no boat), soI have to be there at the right time when they are shallow. I have not been back since they had the gang scare years back.

I shot one down there in 2006 when they had the javelina hunt the same time as deer season. Take Middlemarch road in from the Tombstone side. Then take a left on the forest road that runs along the western side of the Dragoons. Hunt the flats and rolling hills along the washes and you should find some. I don't remember the forest road number, but you can't miss it.

Going to Firebird raceway next Sunday for the NHRA Pro Drag Race. Just wondering if any fellow CWT'ers are going to be there? .....can you feel the THUNDER?

I find it highly ironic how Americans are now celebrating the life(Death) of a crackhead pop diva who pissed away her career by choosing the wrong path. If anyone of us hard working honest people died, we would be a one line blurb in an obituary, buried in the back of a newspaper.

If both sides matched, and had a 16" spread(Approx) that would put it at around 127". A monster for sure!

Obama and his band of cronies, are highly skilled at "smoke and mirrors". He is not a President we can turn our back on. Everything he is doing now and in the next 9 months, will haunt this country for the next decade, if not longer. Imagine what he can do with another term. It makes my skin crawl that this country elected the POS. Who is to say that the NRA is not trying to scare everyone so that we all rush to join up, and send in those donation checks.? The NRA is the single most valuable voice for us and our gun rights. But I got really tired of all the NRA envelopes in my mail box asking for money. It got old in a hurry!
