Bill, San Filipe has seemed to be hit by our economic crunch and decreased tourism. Sunday we took a drive around and saw alot of the nicer vacation type homes sitting empty and for sale. Also a few high rise hotels that never got completed and are just sitting as an empty shell. A year or two ago a couple of the local landowners got greedy and wanted money for allowing the racers to cross thru their land and it turned into a big fight. Score International Offroad racing pulled out and took the race to Ensenada instead. The locals set fire to the landowners house! This race brings 4-5 million dollars to a poor local economy. Needless to say the greedy landowner got the message in a big way. This race is like a big holiday for the locals. The boardwalk on Saturday night was elbow to elbow. Monday morning when we left it felt like a ghost town. I can sypmathize with the sunburn you had. When I was 18, me, my Dad, and another guy who was a pilot rented a Cessna airplane and flew down to Bahia De Los Angeles whcih is south of San Felipe. The second day there I spent all day in the sun, and body surfing, and I got cooked. That night was the most miserable experience I have ever known as far as sunburn pain.

Sorry for your troubles bro. I am supposed to get a decent refund this year, and I hope there are no red flags. Considering our federal budget deficits you know dang well big brother IRS is going to be looking at any way possible to pay as little as possible.

I watched Mr. Toyoto or whatever his name is, explaining things to the congressional committee(using an interpreter) He said they are going to install a safety system on all new cars that is supposed to shut down the accelerator when the brake is applied. He sure danced around the question of what they are going to do to existing cars. I bet a few Toyota engineers got their butts handed to them.

I am sure that various animal rights groups and agencies are putting the pressure on the G&F department, and now they have to find someone to blame to appease the masses. Typical B.S back stabbing, that you will find in any State or Federal agency.

I doubt they have even run the draw yet. Once the draw is run it probably takes at least a few days for them to run a system check and diagnostics to make sure everything is as it should be before hooking the system into the phonelines. Since I only applied for BP's in this draw, I won't have to suffer any anxiety.

Well this morning is not without complete boredom. A BP agent just ran by where my RV is parked, and was drawing his weapon. Since he was alone, I asked him if he was o.k and needed assistance, and he looked at me like I was some kind of idiot. I coulda jumped on my quad and chased down the perp Now that would be fun The helicopters are out there now. Since I am the maintenance man for this place I know where all the "hiding holes" are at.
