Those are some very nice looking friends you have there, it looks like they have a real nose for finding all that bone. I love my dog, but I have to keep a real eye on her, because she hates other dogs(especially coyotes) and always wants to terrorize the local wildlife. She loves people. You will get to meet her if you make it to the party.

You never know what kind of day it will be up there. You can catch a boatload or get skunked, so even catching a few is a real treat. Like you said, just the scenery is always worth the trip

Thanks Bob, I really wanted to Archery Elk hunt this year, but I have a problem with my hand that ended my archery hunting for this year, but I can still hunt rifle, and if time allows me to hunt up there, I will be looking into the leftovers. This morning I saw a male and female with a brood of chicks, they were about an 1 1/2" tall.

I didn't want to say anything Leftovers are usually available in August. I am debating on going for Rifle Elk depending on AZ draw.

Gas preferably, I have medium size outdoor gas grill, but I was just concerned that it may not be large enough to grill everything at the same time?

I posted a similar question awhile back, but I can't find what happened to the thread. Anyway, the Spot Satellite Messenger which is around $150.00 is a poor man's version of the more sophisticated units, but I found out that it can be inconsistent when sending messages, and it requires an activation subscription similar to XM radio, but your location can be tracked by family or freinds via computer and it will send a short text message. The personal locator beacons which range from $400-$700 do not require a satellite subscription and are more reliable but do not allow you to send a message to family, just an emergency signal to the relay facility. Hope this helps.

What makes them stink so bad? Is it the pond slime or decomposing bone? Just curious. The only time I have ever found anything like that was in unit 31 I think. We found a dead bear in the creek bottom that stunk so bad we couldn't get within 20 feet, my buddy wanted the skull. We told a G&F officer about it and he knew it was there and said we could have it, but it was just to rank to get close.

We need a couple more folding tables for the party, if any of you that are coming could bring one that would be great. And possibly another small grill?

Glad to here nobody got hurt, those tree's can be scary during high winds and storms cause you just never know. Last year in New Mexico I was camped and found half a dozen fresh lightning struck trees that looked like they exploded, shrapnel for twenty yards. I realized I was camping in an area that was a lightning magnet.
