Get your kids ready to hunt without devolping bad shooting habits

Awesome training tips. If I had young ones at home this would certainly be a great teaching method. -
+1 Being that she is "Impressive" bred is she negative for the HYPP gene? Good question. maybe Edge knows.

PLEASE HIT ME IN THE HEAD WITH A BAT

I know in Arizona being a white male I am now a minority. Still waiting for my subsistence from the gov, my free phone, free health care, free, food, free education, freee, freee, freee Ohhh and a racist too I guess. -
I guess my thinking is, In this day and age, and we all know the economy is terrible, is it necessary for these people to shoot a buck, elk, cat, bear, buffalo, or is it just the way they were brought up and don't feel the need to conform to 2015. I guess it's just a way of life for some but even a small amount of animals shot for what they say is feeding their family will add to the others that poach and will still have an effect on the numbers of game we can Legally hunt. I will say that if my family is starving I would do whatever it takes to feed them. I don't know if this is the case except for maybe a rare few. Just a little reading if you want. This is just 8 of the biggest cases and not even touching the many millions of others. http://www.petersenshunting.com/poaching/biggest-poaching-cases-ever/

Suggestions on 3/4 Day Charter Trip out of San Diego
murfys69law replied to Siwash's topic in Fishing
I was on a 2 day and hooked into a 85# tuna. There were 12 others fishing at the same time. We were all friends. The tuna proceeded to go around the boat about 4 times and we had to go over and under a bunch of other guys fishing poles. If it weren't for the deck hand helping me we would have got tangled or broke off. Landed him and had a great fish to show for it. Deckhands can be your best friend at times but they do have there place. -
As soon as I get this scope mounted I am shooting 5 dif loads ALL with 165 grn accu-bonds. You will get 10 dif answers to that question like I did. Some say heavier bullet but I shot heavier and want to try something a little faster that will still kill at long range. Good luck Bob. Faster is rarely better especially at long range. The heavier bullet will actually retain velocity better than the lighter one due to a higher BC and more than likely be faster beyond 600 yards or so. A heavy for caliber bullet will always maximize the potential of the caliber by providing more energy, and less wind drift. That means 185-210gr bullets in the .300 as Lance suggested. Fast and flat used to be what worked best because laser rangefinders were not readily available to everyone and being able to hold fur out to 400 yards or so was a big deal. Now days 400 yards is not even considered long range at all and 600-700 yards is the norm where wind conditions become much more important than a flat trajectory. totally understand that.

I strongly concur. I disagree. Mules are awesome and they won't let you put THEM in harms way. They will just tell you to get off and walk if they don't feel right about something. You either love em or hate em. I happen to love em. JMO And how could you not love a face like this?

Keep the faith and we will as well. Prayers sent.

Cat. Look at the rear end. Looks like a tail drooping down. And the shoulders have that cat movement.

I will go back to what I said in another post. I truly believe that the G&F as well as the FS are undermanned. If they do see someone doing this they should right them a ticket with a heavy fine and make them move or leave the area. You start getting into their pockets they tend to listen a little more. As far as pleading ignorant, I too have gone down a road with NO signs other then the FS#. Got to other end and it said road closed. I believe that is the FS fault not mine. Some butthead may have moved it, placed one there, or taken it down. Who knows. Was I ignorant to the road being closed? Yes. Am I ignorant? No. Unless you ask my wife.

I did get the Vortex 6x24 50mm PST EBR 1 FFP and is was at an incredible price. I can't say how much as I promised I wouldn't tell. I can't wait to get it mounted and start the tests. Thanks to all who added your comments either pro or con. I will let you know how it works out.

Sorry I missed it too, Mike. Hope it was a good one.

Me either

Is this your first Sightron? If so let me know what you think once you've used it.

If that's the case then Vortex warranty is the way to go I guess
-
Yeah. I had 2. the 3x9 5 star accutrac and another one that was the 3x9 Wideview accutrac. If you know these scopes they have the yardage post inside so when you dial your magnification up it tells your yardage and then you dial to that. My wideview yardage post just melted for know reason while sitting in my gun cabinet. Sent it back and they said redfield was out of business and they couldn't do anything. Finally found a company that was taking some of there warranty work. They fixed it but it took over a year. I sold the scope and kept the other one. I am replacing it with the vortex as I don't see as well and wanted more magnification. The 5 star was a good one as far as redfield goes but this scope is 30 years old.

That is sooo true. Very nice animals. Good luck with sale.
