Great pack! I bought a new one during last year's black Friday sale and bought an older style used one for my nephew to use for when he goes out with me.

Looking for advice on raising a child into a hunter
bgshooter replied to TonyC's topic in Youth Hunters
I have 2 boys (10 & 8). I didn't get serious into hunting until last year. So I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to trying to get them into hunting. They show a little interest but they're not begging me to go out hunting...I have to ask them and their answer is usually "maybe". However, rewind 6 years ago when they were (4 & 2). At age 4, we got our son into sports. Soccer was his first sport and actually started at age 3. We had him in soccer 3 seasons a year (Fall, Winter, Spring). At age 5 & 3, they both started tee-ball\coach pitch baseball. They're still playing baseball now and haven't missed a Fall, Winter, Spring season. We practice baseball even in the off-seasons. They both love playing baseball. I guess the point is, keep them doing whatever it is that you want them to grow up loving and that's what will happen. As long as they're having fun doing it, they'll grow up to love it. So if you want them to love hunting and the outdoors, you have to get out there with them a lot. Not just once or twice a year. The more they're out there and having fun, the more they'll want to be out there. Oh, and I agree with the post above. Try and keep them away from technology as long as possible. However, being in the IT industry myself, it was kind of hard to do that. I had an iPod, iPhone, iPad...etc. So of course they learned to use it and wanted their own. They saved up to buy their own iPad minis. At least we used that as a learning point in having them save for something they want and not just hand it over to them. But that's another discussion for another time. Good luck with your girls. -

Nice buck. How far were you guys away from that buck? -
I would love to do it myself some day but for now have to bring it to a processor. Some day I will.

If the Lord God blesses me with a deer on my hunt, does anyone know of a good meat processor near 20C? Some day I hope to be able to process my own meat but until then, I'll need to bring it somewhere. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just in front of my computer at work typing away...then I hear ***THUD***. Look to my right (towards the windows) and I see something falling down. Go to take a look and there's a mourning dove on the ground. Would I get in trouble for harvesting it? Can't wait for the season to start...

I drive in through wickenburg so that would be the best course of action.

I'm sure you will Khmer6 but I think I'll take it home to the family instead. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I picked up a used pair of 10x42 Diamondbacks and I like them being the nicest pair (or most expensive) of glass I've ever owned. I've never looked through the higher end glasses in the field so I can't make a comparison there. I can't tell a difference between those and the 10x42 Prostaff 7s I bought on sale for $100 at cabelas. I do like how the Diamondbacks feel on my hands better than the Prostaff. But I used both on tripods so doesn't make a difference in that case.

Helps me take my mind off my own medical appointments. God is good! just so happens Jareds scripture he chose is also the scripture I have on my wallet. Jeremiah 29:11 "I know the plans I have for you." declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future." And that happens to be my wife's favorite scripture. Love it!!! -

No shotgun? No problem. Here's how to hunt with a dog in Pakistan... -
My wife wanted to go camping on her birthday weekend (9/5) so we reserved a spot at dog town lake. Anyone do any dove hunting up in that unit? I see a lot of water holes on google map so hoping to get some dove hunting in while we're up there.

Yes. It's more of a joke. Never planned on picking it up in case there's AZG&F police out there monitoring our posts but I still can't wait for the season to start. -
question about auto repairs versus buying a new car
bgshooter replied to naturegirl's topic in The Campfire
Once warranty is done with a new car purchase, my car will never see a dealer mechanic again. I always bring my cars to Carl's Car Care on Bell Rd & 59th Ave.
