I don't have a varmint gun so I load 95gr V-max with variety in my 6.5x55. It explodes them at all ranges. Seems like a 223 would be more than enough, but can't speak from experience. -
Very cool. When I lived in TN, I had hens that would nest in the same places every year. Loved watching the eggs turn into cotton balls, then into mobile chicks. Had one hen that always had them about 40 yards from my back door. Very entertaining from the pool deck when they were cruising around.

Isn't Mt Trumbull in 13b? I'm just learning the area myself in hopes of drawing a tag someday.Answered my own question with a little research. It is in A. I drive through the strip a couple times a month on my way to and from work. I want to get in there and do some good scouting to learn it. Want to look for those chuckar too. Looking forward to reading the results of your hunt. Good luck.

+1 I did this for my hunt in 2007... I was drawn along with my son, my father-in-law, and my uncle-in-law (neither of which had ever hunted.) I was worried because my FIL has some health issues and I knew he wouldnt be able to walk much on uneven terrain. Winds up that, in addition to running a first class guide service, Duwayne is just one heck of a guy. I paid not very much for guides for all four of us and we had the time of our lives. Never did tell my father-in-law that it cost me anything lol - he would have killed me for spending money on him. There just aren't words for how grateful I was - still am. And, for what its worth, if all you can afford is the map then by all means find a way to do it. His book isn't too shabby either, or his video ;-) I used Duwayne Adams for the Coues deer in my profile pic. Very satisfied with his service and expertise. Whole family are great people and easy to work with. I'm sure if he can't help, he'll point you to someone that can. -

I live in Lake Havasu and work in the UT oil fields for Cleanharbors. I have always loved AZ and am glad to now call it home. I'm hoping one day to change jobs and find something in AZ so I can spend more time in the best state in the nation. This is my first post on the board ever. Been reading it for a while, finally registered. Looking forward to sharing when I can.
